Yuk, sticky!!!
In the beginning there were pencils, and life was good. Then came the mechanical variant, no more having to sharpen them, no more brushing up wood shavings and a permanent nice sharp point, life was even better. Then, one day, a PaperMate product manager by the name of Mr Uckwit (Fred to his friends), thought it would be an excellent idea to stick individual barcode labels on each pencil, this will make all of our customers spend at least a minute trying to remove the label, hence ensuring that they really get a good appreciation of our product thought Mr Uckwit. His assistant, Mr Sole (Richard to his friends), enthusiastically agreed and suggested using an incredibly sticky goopy adhesive for the label that would resist all known solvents, hence ensuring that customers really appreciate all of the time it would take to remove the label whilst ensuring there would be a permanent sticky reminder of its presence for the life of the product. The actual pencils are pretty good, unfortunately covering something you need to write with in permanent sticky goop renders them pretty much unusable. Hence, not recommended.

Best propelling pencil around in my opinion
I use a pencil for work and have tried other brands but they don't compare. This is a brilliant little propelling pencil. In other cheaper products the lead snaps all the time. These write beautifully, the lead stays intact and if you make a mistake you have a handy little eraser on the end. Perfect.

Quality, comfort, legibility and longevity!
Absolutely THE BEST non-stop pencils ever, but that's only my opinion. Have just bought a new box after reaching my last pencil from a previous batch which I bought about 7 years ago. I have tried other mechanical pencils but these are by far and away my favourites. VERY comfortable to write with, the leads last for ages and don't break everytime you go to use them. The eraser on the end of these pencils is also very good and 'clean' and brilliant all round! The lead is not too soft and the visibility is great. Cannot say anything negative about these and only hope this next batch lasts me another 7 odd years!

v practical, good value but strange variable hardness of 'lead'
I love these pencils! I use them for sudoku and hanji puzzles.Great to have a working rubber on the end - never lose it, doesn't smudge. And I like that they are so slim, I find fat writing implements uncomfortable. You never have to sharpen them either, just twist the top and more 'lead' appears. (I know it's graphite really, I don't know why we always call it lead!)The strange thing is the graphite seems to be of variable hardness as you use each one. You can be shading in a square on a hanji puzzle and part way through, it goes very soft - like BB pencil, or very hard - like HH. These changes don't last long but are a bit disconcerting! Maybe cheap graphite is used.Anyway, I still use them cos they're otherwise very practical and comfortable and good value.

Great pencils, great price, just one bugbear
These are great pencils. Smooth, dark, and cheap. The erasers are pretty good. They're cheap enough to buy in bulk and not worry if you lend one and don't get it back. The only downside is that they come with a barcode sticker on them that's impossible to cleanly remove. It leaves a nasty sticky residue. Still, great pencils.
