Just what we were looking for.
This is just the size we were looking for. Before we could use it the glass baseplate separated from the pivot, so I glued it back on. There didn't appear to be any glue between the glass plate and the pivot. the white glue in the picture is the adhesive between the slate and the pivot. The migrating blob is between the glass and the pivot. Before the glue could set up the pivot migrated off center. But it now works fine, even though it is off center. My wife is happy.

You need to handle it with care for sure but it just looks great and is a great centrepiece.
