Not bad for the money...
For the money, TEMCo TH0001 is not a bad buy. It's not something you'd want to use a lot because you had better be pretty strong if you're cutting 3/0 wire. It's a tough job. The cuts were clean once the cut was made.To make cutting 2/0 & 3/0 easier, go to the hardware store and purchase 2 small PVC tubes in plumbing to put over the handles and extend them. Doing this gives you much more leverage and makes cutting 3/0 wire much easier.

Easy clean cuts!!
The 12” handles make it a breeze to cut 4/0 cable for my solar installs.

Surprised. Very good.
I have to say, worked great to cut and to strip massive 4/0 wire. I'm impressed!

Sharp cutters
Very sharp cut well however they barely fit over 4/0 wire like they say I have to force the wire into the jaws fully opened I wish they were bigger but that's on me for ordering 12" cutters

Like a hot knife through butter
I bought this to cut 4/0 copper stranded wire. And although it's ever so slightly snug to get it through the tips of the cutter, I found the cut nearly effortless. The tool is solid.

Somewhat disappointed
If a cable cutter is rated to cut 4/0 cable then it should without a struggle. I bought specifically for a project to cut 4/0 battery cables, I will say yes it is technically possible to cut that size cable, however I am 6'1" 230lbs man with more strength than your average Joe and the amount of effort involved is literally finding a solid surface to put one of the cutters against and the forcing the other arm down with the majority of my considerable bulk to make the cut. Now I will saw it cuts 2/0 cable like butter, easy peasy, like clipping a hedge. For that I am keeping them an have put them them through extensive use. Just a little off-putting that rating at 4/0 is way off, no way.

Mixed Reviews Almost Made Me Skip This
I had an upcoming job where I would need to cut 4/0 battery cable a bit and some people said theirs broke after a couple cuts. I made several cuts ranging from 8 gauge to 4/0 and these worked great. I wish the cut in the larger wires wasn't so angled, but these look to be designed more for the smaller stuff and they work for the bigger stuff. The slight angle didn't affect my crimp - I use closed end marine terminals so there's not a lot of room for error. I was actually able to use the crimp to get a hair more wire in the terminal by lining up the angle cut with the angle of the terminal.
