I had a huge problems with fungus gnats in my indoor plants. A little sand on top of the soil and this product on top of the sand. Killed all gnats. It must be the water that dissolves into the soil and all I know is they (gnats) are gone and never have returned.

Works as prescribed. Low spot in back yard draws mosquitos. Small application controls these pests.

Even if you are not trying to kill mosquitoes, which this is for. It kills larva of pesky fruit flies and plant gnats. You know those pesky pain in the ass tiny things with wings that destroy your plants and your fruits and vegetables. Yeah those guys. It will kill the larva, you just have to make like a tea out of it, get a cheap spray water bottle or used cleaner spray bottle and spray the soil and leaves, I suppose if you wanted to go the more fun route you can ants and praying mantis’s. But after you do it the first, wait for about three weeks, give it another healthy dose and then in a month give another. After that only once a month and you will have zero pesky tiny spots flying about, eating your plants who also like to migrate to you your fruit basket.

So as many others have mentioned the seller lists the unit size as 60.oz 2pack it is 30.oz 2 pack instead that gives you a total of 60 oz. (thus the reason for the 4 star instead of 5 start review)That said the product is great. If you look at the reviews of some of the one star people it is very obvious they have never used this type of product and didn't read the instructions. As a result are unhappy because of not following directions or knowing what they were buying.The product doesn't form "mold" on it. The product creates a bacterial colony that spreads out from the kernel of the individual bits that infects larvae that come in contact with it. It is that bacteria that prevents new larvae from being able to reproduce. It isn't an insecticide and isn't going to immediately kill your mosquitoes or gnats. It on average takes about 2 to three weeks to clear out a heavy infestation in the house. If you don't want to see the colony then you can either mix the pellets in the dirt and water or place the pellets in your watering can and water. That way the colony spread isn't as visible. And is best to keep using the product once you eliminate the infestation. I water about once a week with the stuff in the water can and haven't had a problem now in over a year.If you are using the product outside rather than inside then you should be getting the larger dunks, as is more cost effective, but the bits can be used outside as well. Bits are better for inside plants. If you are using outside, then when creating your "bucket-o-doom" the water and the dunks need to be changed about once a month. Is best to add some grass clippings and a stick to the bucket to help attract the mosquitoes as well as provide a way for beneficial bugs (like pollinators) to escape. On average it takes about a month or 2 to see a noticeable drop outside since you have mosquitoes coming in from outside your area all the time. So takes a while to reduce a large population. And for the average yard you probably need at least 2 to 3 buckets. But in the long run ends up being much better than the mosquito fog as that kills everything that you don't want to get rid of from your garden and the mosquitoes actually build a resistance to it. So you end up killing the bugs that eat the mosquitoes and creating stronger mosquitoes that way that have no natural check on the population. So the problem gets worse.All in all the product is great and I highly recommend it. Though do wish they would fix the description size as has been a problem for over a year now.

Living for 40 years in Miami that is a mosquitoes heaven during the rainy season… and collecting bromeliads that are the perfect nursery for mosquitoes larvae’s due to their water retention, my place could be impossible to visit without this amazing product that is doing magic in killing the larvae before they develop and does not damage the environment not other insects/animals.

Two years ago, I was growing all kinds of flowers under growlights, and I had an infestation of fungus gnats. Since discovering this product, I have a pesticide free way of eliminating the fungus gnats. The plants are all outdoors for the summer, but throughout the winter, my house was free of the fungus gnats, and I did it without toxic chemicals. This product is harmless to humans and to pets--unless you have a pet fungus gnat.

I read instructions & think I’m doing it right but it doesn’t seem to work. I several areas of rain water catchment so I have lots of mosquitoes but this didn’t help at all ive used almost the entire bag with little help

I water my houseplants with a solution that includes the mosquito bits. GENIUS! Really works to keep the fruit flies and gnats down. I like it and would order again!
