Plastic Hinge Dowel Inserts with Screws 100 Pack

Needed to replace hinges in larder cupboard to allow easier access. These worked well but needed to be glued to prevent them turning when putting in screw. I used 8mm drill into MDF, filled the hole with glue then hammered the plug in.

Too small for standard screws but worked fine when drilled

Bought to allow fixing of some hinges to new cupboard doors I was fabricating. Drilled the appropriate sized hole (8mm was fine for me, plus I didn't have an 8.5mm bit), the plastic plug needed hammering in, my material (MDF) had a little give I guess to was OK for the smaller sized hole however I did find that when screwing in the plastic plug, which has ridges to prevent it from coming up out of the hole, doesn't have anything to stop it from spinning in the hole. Ended up adding a dot of hot glue to the hole before inserting the plastic plug, this helped strengthen the hole and kept the plug in place when fixing the hinge with the screw. I imagine this might be different in different materials, a harder wood might be fine for example. I wouldn't think these would be particularly heavy duty but then again they did the job intended here so no complaints.

You need to get right size drill bit and a bit wood glue to install .to keep a tight fitting.would use again. Always use the correct Phillips head as the screws heads can be soft when using wrong size

This solution works well, but the items come with no instructions as to what drill size to use. It was fortunate that I erred on the safe side and only used an 8mm drill as the internet advert suggested 8.30mm (3/8"), otherwise fine product.

This kit worked perfectly for upgrading my cabinet hinges. The cabinet doors had pre-drilled holes for the hinge screw configuration and the new hinges did not have the special screws attached to fill them. The plastic inserts in this kit filled the holes, so I could screw the new hinges into place.

I purchased a special order from Home Depot of 25 doors + 12 drawer fronts (well made, pre-drilled, well packaged, but costly) and was stunned when the drilled holes for the screws obviously needed specialized plastic anchors. Then I was surprised when I found out the store didn't sell anything that would fot; they suggested hand cutting gyproc anchors! THIS PRODUCT WAS AWESOME! It's exactly as described and holds my kitchen doors perfectly. One tip: be sure to pound the anchors flush so your hinges screw in tight.

Ich war beim Kauf dieses Sets etwas skeptisch, ob das wirklich funktioniert. Ich muss sagen, ich bin überwältigt. Ich hatte eine Klappschranktür mit Feder die schwer aufgeht und durch die Federn ordentlich Gegendruck hat. Das Scharnier hält wieder super. Nix wackelt mehr. Der 2. Reparaturpatient eine Kleiderschranktür im Kinderzimmer. Hier war das obere Scharnier komplett herausgerissen. Hatte es schon mit Holzspachtel versucht zu kitten. Die Schrauben haben aber nie wieder gehalten. Auch hier konnte der Schrank mit den Dübeln und Schrauben gerettet werden. Patient Nummer 3 eine große Unterbettschublade. Die Führungsschiene war lose, weil die Löcher ausgerissen waren. Auch die Schiene hält wieder. Es ist so einfach! Loch mit großem Bohrer aufbohren Dübel mit dem Hammer leicht einschlagen und Schrauben reindrehen fertig! Einfach Klasse!
