I was hopeful that halogen beam heater would work as well as the commercial units that I have seen in coffee bars on YouTube. It's not the same. This unit looks ok but there's a lot of stray light that hurts your eyes and there were a lot of bad smells when I used it. The manual says you cannot use it with cold water because it will overheat before it boils. I used it with boiling hot water and it still smelled bad. The units I've seen on YouTube can be left on all day at a coffee bar with no problems. That's what I want to buy. I am concerned that the bad smells are probably carcinogenic. I'm going with a butane burner instead. I really had high hopes for this product.

No need to use alcohol burners. This is safe, fast and reliable

Be careful as soon as I plugged it in it sparked the socket and shorted out. I sent it back right away. Waiting on replacement with my fingers crossed that it was just a bad one.

I boil my water and pour it in my Stojnic coffee maker and put it on this halogen beam heater burner instead of an alcohol lamp. It helps heat the eater and immediately process making coffee with my syphon coffee maker.
