Precision, craftsmanship, and razor-sharp results โ this kit is in a league of its own.
If you're serious about keeping your knives in peak condition, this sharpening stone kit is a game-changer. I bought it after struggling with dull blades and mediocre sharpeners, and I can confidently say โ this is the best sharpening system Iโve ever used. The stones are beautifully crafted and feel premium right out of the box. Follow the directions, take your time, and youโll be rewarded with an edge so sharp it glides through food like butter. Itโs not just functional โ itโs satisfying to use. The process is smooth, meditative even, and the results are professional-grade. What I love most is the attention to detail: the non-slip base, angle guide, and thoughtful packaging make it clear that this isnโt just a product โ itโs a tool built for excellence. Whether you're a home cook or a culinary enthusiast, this kit will elevate your kitchen game. Sharpness, quality, and value all wrapped into one outstanding set. Highly recommend to anyone who wants their knives performing at their absolute best.

I'd recommend it
Overall a very good set. I was looking for a knife sharpening set for my knives as many are more worn than I'd like and I plan to go camping with a couple soon. I used this to sharpen a couple stainless steel fixed blades and a stainless steel jackknife. As mentioned, my knives were dull and would more-so rip through paper instead of cutting it. After sharpening my knives with these whetstones, my knives were able to actually cut instead of rip. I followed the basic rule of doubling the amount of strokes with every change of the stone (10 for medium, 20 for fine, 40 for stropping) and I used water instead of oil. I did not use the included gloves as I felt it unnecessary. I also didn't use the included angle guide as I was sharpening Scandinavian grind knives and just followed the grind. The stropping belt has a nice "handle" on it to grab onto so you're able to get a taught belt. My only issue with the stones is that on a couple is the logo for the company printed on there. This creates a smooth area on the stone that has to be smoothed down before use otherwise you are left with a small area to actually sharpen the knife on. I would've preferred if the logo was printed on the side instead of on top. Pros: Actually sharpens knives Can be used by beginners (I'd recommend doing research first) Multiple grit levels to reset or hone knives Silicone holders prevent intense movement Holder allows for use in many areas to maintain a level grind Cons: Logo must be removed before use (or just work around it) Made in Japan so English instructions are basically useless Angle guide doesn't fit smaller knives (meant for kitchen knives)

KERYE Professional Japanese Whetstone Sharpener Stone Set - still a great product after 1 year
Especially for the price, this is a great set of whetstones. The multiple grits allow use on dull knives and the finest really put a fine edge on sharper knives. Pro: good instructions, a stable base to hold the stone, contains a leather strop, hasn't significantly worn down yet but has a leveling stone as well Cons: the stones are a bit small for large chef's knives, but it just means you need to be slow and deliberate when sharpening to prevent over running the stone edge, the strop is just okay, the angle guide is pretty much worthless. Manual knife sharpening is labor intensive and is intentional, but I think the payoff is great when you learn this manual skill. It's actually rather relaxing. For the money, this is a great starter set or is also high quality enough for those already possessing the skill to use it. Don't forget to read the directions about which stones should be soaked and which don't need soaking. And make certain your stones dry out completely (I use a moisture meter, but then again that's me) before storing in an enclosed space. Mold can be a problem apparently. With careful use this set will last you quite a while. I've been using mine for 1 year already. Remember, once you have a good edge on your knives if you don't abuse them you shouldn't need to use the stones all that often.

Well designed product.
First of all, I did not pay for this product. Now I will proceed with my comments. Iโve always had a pocket knife and had small stones to sharpen them. And I have periodically sharpened kitchen knives, but this product takes sharpening to a much more professional level. I went online and looked at different YouTube videos for knife sharpening and realized there are multiple ways that people sharpen their knives. The kit accommodates any of the techniques. The stones and the frames for holding the stones the piece that holds the angle on the knife when sharpening and all the other items in the package are very helpful. I have an old hunting knife that my son left out in the weather for a couple of years And I started practicing with it. I realize this is a skill that takes time but the product will allow me to learn this skill so I think itโs something that a beginner can use as well as someone who is more experienced in knife sharpening. Overall , I think itโs a very good product.

Surprising value
I purchased this kit to replace some whetstones I had lost and was genuinely impressed. The packaging is top-notch, reminiscent of a high-end product. It comes in a sleek box that immediately gave a great first impression. The stones themselves are excellent. They do a fantastic job of both removing material and achieving a polished finish. An unexpected surprise was the included sharpening guide that clips onto your knife. I hadnโt planned on using it, but it turned out to be a game-changer. It makes maintaining the perfect angle effortless and allows you to achieve a razor-sharp edge with ease. This kit includes everything you need to get a blade sharp enough to shave with, which, in my opinion, is the ultimate test of sharpness. Overall, Iโm very impressed. The quality and performance easily feel like a $70 value, yet itโs priced under $35. Highly recommended!

Too notch
compared to others - I tried several other knife sharpening kits first which looked similar, but this one is much better. The others had grit stones which were mislabeled and not very flat. These grit stones are labeled correctly and work perfectly. Instructions are clear and packaging is much better than other brands. I received other brands with broken stones because of poor packaging, but this one is in foam and secure so it wonโt break during shipping. Usage - I was able to put a razor edge on my knives. I sharpened several knives with these stones, some stainless kitchen knives, a kitchen fillet knife and chefs knife and some aerated blades. All sharpened quickly. I used these on a D2 steel pocket knife which also sharpened easily. I also sharpened a leatherman blade which is 440 stainless and a Fox knife blade which is also 440 stainless. These required more passes but still sharpened fine. Then I used these on a m390 lionsteel, which is also now razor sharp again. If the stones can sharpen m390 then they will work for anything. Presentation - These stones are presented very well. The box is robust and very well made, as is the packaging. As mentioned above the stones are secured with foam which is cut to their shape and they are also bubble wrapped, so I wouldnโt worry about breaking during shipping. They also come with a stamped on logo, which is nice but frankly hinders use so I donโt like it. Thatโs my only real complaint. Final thoughts - I really like this set. The stones are good, instructions are clear, and packaging is excellent. Iโd recommend these if youโre looking for a full set of stones, especially over cheaper alternatives that look similar.

Nice package but one of the stone have a small chip.
Very nice packaging and all components are properly stored inside. The manual is only including basic details for sharpening the knife using the stones. No info regarding the leather strop. :( Another thing which is not mentioned anywhere is that is" Originated from Sakai, Japan, Designed in New York, US, Made in China" . And the 3000 grit stone came with a small chip on the corner, even if it was well protected. Missing part was not in the bag, which means that it was wrapped chipped. Those 2 are the reasons for 4 stars. I will use it and ther update the review if needed.
