Product Description Features new music from Sugar Ray (produced by Brian Eno), All Saints (produced by William Orbit), Blur, Faithless and New Order (1st new recording since 1993). [Note: This product is an authorized CD-R and is manufactured on demand] .com Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Richard, a young traveler with a curiosity streak that leads him to Thailand in search of adventure. This video-game fanatic finds himself following a map that supposedly leads to an island paradise. The accompanying soundtrack mixes the technological fascination with the exotic journey of the jungle, featuring several ambient electronica tracks (Underworld's epic "Ball," Leftfield's "Snakeblood") and other tracks mixed for futuristic sound. New Order provide the previously unreleased "Brutal," representing the sharper end of their spectrum, with a heavier guitar mix than usual. Asian Dub Foundation provide a modern interpretation of dub legend Lee "Scratch" Perry's "Return of Django." Sugar Ray expand their range with the calypso groove of Brian Eno and John Cale's "Spinning Away," and it's an unexpected gem. Bratty Britpoppers Blur remix "On Your Own" to sound like a video game gone beserk. Film scorer Angelo Badalamenti brings things full circle with the surprisingly upbeat collaboration with Orbital for the closing track "Beached." --Rob O'Connor

Beached, not Beached
Purchased to get a copy of 'Beached' by Orbital & Angelo Badalamenti - always enjoyed that particular song. While not every track on this soundtrack album has aged equally well, it serves as a nice example of late '90's / early Naughts 'Electronica' - nearly up there with the Wipeout XL Soundtrack from '96. '8 Ball' from Underworld, 'Return of Django' by Asian Dub Foundation and 'Woozy' by Faithless hold up well, in contrast to 'Brutal' by new Order.

So many memories
The Beach ignited a flame in me that hasn't been satiated to this day, although it has been quelled a bit. This soundtrack brought back memories of this awesome movie and made rekindled my desire to one day visit Thailand. Thanks for the service and quick delivery. :)

I had to get a replacement because I love it so much
My CD player crashed and my first copy got stuck inside and got destroyed when I tried to get it out. I had to get a replacement because I love it so much, good stuff.

Venture into the unknown.
Loved the film, inspired me to make my own journey to Thailand - although I didn't escape the tourist trap that the characters in the story try to.The music captures the feel of the film, that sense of venturing into the unknown. Also I have liked the All Saints song that features for a while, makes me dream of holidays on tropical beaches.

Worth the gamble...
I don't usually buy commercial soundtracks and thought this had a high potential to be sad. Surprisingly though, I think this is a good selection of tracks and have played it non-stop. There are easily enough good tunes to make this worth buying and the album gets away with a genuine uplifting effect which only borders on becoming cheesy for the odd track. It's very chilled out and picks up in places. Definitely, buy it, even if you have to hide it when friends visit - just don't tell them what you're playing. Listen to the music !
