Prime-Line H 3787 Steel Tilt Balance Tension Tool, 10 Inch Length, Chrome Plated (Single Pack)

This is one sweet heart tool if you need it. I didn't understand what to do with my window problem lifts until I down loaded and read the H-18 Spiral Balance (Tilt) Instructions. End result, ten minutes after I had the tool in hand my window problem was solved. I used a bar stool and a 4 inch thick packing box stacked together to rest the sash on while I worked on it and I didn't need a helper. I have some aging windows and I wound the spiral rod eight turns instead of six, and it worked perfectly. If it takes a lot of force to complete the installation there's something wrong. Think again, don't force the tool. Thanks Prime-Line!

This tension tool worked perfectly. I suggest watching YouTube videos to make sure you know how to use it correctly. I thought I needed new windows because they would slam shut. I used this tool to recharge the tension in my windows and now they work great! I can’t believe it was so easy! What a savings!

I saw some of these tools that looked "fancier". I opted for this one and am glad I did. I had a window that was weaker on one side than the other. In less than a minute, I had it working like a charm. This tool is well made, should last a lifetime. You may only need to use it a couple of times, but when you do, there's no substitute! Solidly made!

I had two windows that needed adjusting. This tool worked fine for my needs. I had to adjust the tool because one of my window lifts were rusted so not the tool's fault. I do not think this tool will be ok for contractors, get a better quality one for that.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do. I had to rehang some sash spring, and tighten some others, and this thing did it with no effort. It's only a few dollars and it's sturdy enough to last a lifetime.

Accomplished the job. For an inexpensive tool, saved a lot of money. Try calling a window repair shop to see what they charge to change out pivot shoes and retension the balances - it's crazy. If you can follow basic instructions, you can DIY for the couple dollars the shoes cost and this simple tool.

Selling our home, and the inspector listed 'broken sash springs' on the report. Two turns of this tool on each side of the sash and the springs worked fine! Highly recommend trying to adjust the springs before buying new springs or having window repaired.

Cheaply made of pot metal. Tips broke off after second use. A pair of needle nose vice grips does a better job
