Motorguide X3 Trolling Motor-70FW FB 50" 24V

Installed this on a 20 ft Stratos 294XL. Excellent . Gets up and goes. Ran it 24 volts. Last all day on the lake. Love the prop , slices thru seaweed.

Used it twice and the motor burned up evidentially no one works on them. And motorguide is giving me the run around.

Seems like a awesome trolling motor. I got a dud as it came out of the box with one of the steering cables off a pulley somewhere so the cable is loose and the head of the motor spins freely around the shaft. I have a sloped bow on my boat so was a nightmare to get installed level with horrible access to put backing and attach the mounting screws shoulder deep into a front compartment and at a awkward angle. I now have to tow my entire boat into a service department to repair my brand new never used motor. Product seems awesome, but doing a warranty claim through MotorGuide is a hassle to say the least. Hope for a better unit when you buy and check before mounting cause I would definitely just get a refund and repurchase if I didn’t already build a wedge and mount it.Update: got the issue repaired. Their only shop in the area for warranty claims wasn’t very bright but not motorguides fault. This thing is awesome. Super quiet, very responsive and flat out scoots with a 70lb on a 15’ trihull.

It seemed to be built sturdy but after having it a month the steering cables broke at the foot pedal with just using it a few hours a weekend, the wire cables are super thin

This trolling motor works perfectly. It was easy to mount and wire. It has plenty of power. I wish the direction arrow lit up.
