I love having this. Works great but the first one failed after a couple years. one day, without warning, it leaked all the oil out and stopped working. I did buy another one to try, hoping to get more time out of this one but cheap and easy to install.

I had a DeeZee tailgate assistant like this on my old truck which worked great, this one is cheaper and works just as well, as easy to install and has been on my new truck for probably 3 months and this working as it should. For the price you can’t beat it

This is a small but great improvement to quality of life. No more hard dropping tail gate or in my case, the gate coming loose.*NOTE* This does fit an 04 Chevy Avalanche BUT requires a little bit of modification to make it work. The bolt that you attach the bottom of the shock to sticks out just a bit too far to close the gate. I used a Dremel tool grind off 2 or 3 threads to give it enough clearance.

I had one on left side last summer but I just added second for right side. Had to modify bracket add pcv pipe cut short to keep tailgate came off. Now door came down better to slow down.

Very cheap but it works for my 07 silverado wt. No more slamming.

Great product. Tailgate releases slowly and with no downward slams. Excellent fit.
