Kaytee Perfect Chews for Chinchillas (4 Pack)

Failed Design
My Chins bit through the cheap wooden dowel that holds these tiny nibblers on, the entire cluster fell to the floor of the cage and that is where they sit, useless to them as the entire reason they are hung up is completely defeated by a bad design. I recommend the steel shaft type that hold the individual chewables up off the nasty excrement riddled floor of the cage so that they can keep their teeth healthy and at the appropriate length. I have one of these that I bought years ago and I'm getting another now. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00176F664/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 . These are a complete waste of money as they FAIL miserably at the task they are claiming to fulfill.

So-so quality
They were ok but my chinchillas tore them apart the first night I had them up. So they didn't really chew on them. They just pulled them apart and left the pieces all over the cage.

Not the best
I got this for my chinchilla and the rope it’s on is not wire he chewed right through the rope therefore it was no longer a hanging chew toy, I’ve bought others that he cannot chew through

Almost perfect!
My Chinchillas love these! This pack comes with a good amount. My only complaint is that they are easy to break. My pets end up breaking the woodblocks off in a couple of hours.

They also came with a strong odor -- almost like vinegar or some chemical smell
This product is so-so. It's intended as a chew toy for small animals, but the little wooden pears come with the stems glued into them. I prefer an all-natural wooden chew toy for my pets. They also came with a strong odor -- almost like vinegar or some chemical smell. I ended up not using them for my pets because I didn't want them to get sick. I'd rather pay more for a higher quality product that I know is safe for my animals.

Not durable
Okay, I have a very old chinchilla who loves chewing on things, as chinchillas do. The wooden stick that holds all the little wooden balls is not durable at all. She chewed right through it within a day, sending all the parts tumbling to the bottom of her cage. She's not as interested with things that fall rather than hang, so she pretends they don't exist. I recommend something that will hold up better

It's OK. Changed to wooden stick..
they changed what used to be a metal rod to a wood stick. The chinchillas chew through them in hours at best. Then they play with the parts somewhat, but aren't nearly as excited as when they are held in place.

Chew toy turned into lots of chew beads!
My Degu boys have LOVED these. They chewed off the end ball Keri g the wood beads in place and dismantled it almost immediately, but they’ve continued carrying around the chew beads and had fun with them. I had to remove the clip because they continued trying to chew it, too. Although they didn’t stay on the stick, they still were a great chew deterrent and a good buy!
