It is easy to setup but you have to do it correctly or else it wouldn't work. Pay attention to the instructions in the book. It helps if you are beginner. Also, make sure you carefully peeling off the tape and not ripping the whole thing off.

I really enjoy the amount of light coming from this light strip. You get a huge amount for such a low price. 2 reels full! I was able to string then around my entire outside deck. I like that it had a bunch of preset colors and flash and strobe settings. The fact that they are waterproof makes them even better. I wad worried the 3M type adhesive wouldn't hold them up but I had no problems at all with adhesion. The best part is that these strobe and fade to the beat while listening to my favorite music. They are great when you have a few friends over for grilling out, listening to music and have them beat to the music. They even have 4 different settings for how to sync to the music. These lights are the star of the show!

Overall, this product is pretty good. Couple things I found.1.) Like all great imported products, the instructions read like they were run through Google translate. They can get you there but really aren't very helpful.2.) You can cut these strands, which is a nice touch, and create strands that are a better length for your project, but the connectors they sent me to do this, are just loose in the box (which is bad cause they are tiny and have easily bent prongs) and the instructions, being poorly translated, don't really explain how to use it exactly.3.) This comes as two strips of lights, you can run them in series (plug one into another) but even though the controller has two plugs, I couldn't get them to work in parallel. Not a huge deal, but it might be for someone else.4.) The construction of these strings does seem pretty good since they have a waterproof rating the LEDs are on the strip and encased in a flexible plastic, which gives the whole strip some heft and a decent weight.5.) I can't speak to the adhesion of these lights, as I am just using them for extra light in a location, by hanging them over a section of my basement.6.) As for brightness, I wish they were a bit brighter. Though since they can be stuck to things with adhesion, I might try and get them closer to my work area where I was hoping for extra light.

We got these installed and turned them on and about 90 seconds later they started smoking and were catching on fire. We unplugged them immediately but it left a scorch mark on the wall. These were in my 12 year old’s room, I am thankful I happened to be standing there at the time because they could have quickly started her room on fire.

This is my first time buying LED strips, so I do not have anything to compare it to, but these lights are great! Me and my wife keep our apartment with minimum decorations, so we wanted something to spruce up our kitchen/bar area. Installation, is super easy,the LED strips are fairly long, but make your measurements before, to make sure you will have enough. The adhesive is fairly strong, but is definately meant for a one time use.The package also comes with additional mounts, which I did not use. The lights themselves are really cool, the controller has many different settings, they can move to the beat, flash, and keep on one color (red is my favorite) They even have a timer. I can see a lot of cool places to put, under kitchen cabinets, behind entertainment center, around your bed etc... The one thing I would like, is if they were a bit more sensitive to move to the beat of the music, but I can overlook this issue since they look so cool.
