Puffin Hairy Maclary's Hat Tricks

Bought as a Christmas present for a young member of my family.

My son is dyslexic and in second grade, and reading on grade level (Early Intervention is key here). He really enjoys the Hairy Maclary / Slinki Malinki books, as do I. For him they are very engaging both because they are well written and because the illustrations are wonderful. For me, there is always new vocabulary to teach him and longer words that he has to make an effort to decode, but not so much that he shuts down. Some pages have a few lines of text and on the longer pages there is usually a phrase repeated which also keeps him from feeling overwhelmed. Lynley Dodd is a TERRIFIC childrens author!

A well loved story by my little girl and awesome for those quiet times.

My three year old LOVES all Hairy Maclary's and Slinky Malinki books. We read them every night and he can recite them from the memory now. Rimes are easy and stories are fun. We collected all books in this series except one which we could not get even through the book vendor in the Great Britain.

My niece loves these books and almost has all of them . Great rhyming which appeals to 4 year old children . I enjoy the books myself
