Is the kettle made in the usa or china?

Alessi is Italian. Michael Graves was an American designer & architect who appreciated the architecture of Rome. Not all Alessi products are made in Italy. Most are, and so is this kettle. While your question was not specifically for me, I do have one of these for sale. The one I have was personally engraved by Michael Graves, thus the price is much higher. Will it boil any better than the non-autographed kettle ? No, but it is special in that Michael Graves lived till March of 2015 and never wavered for good quality design. I can say that this particular kettle I have was opened and engraved by Michael at his Princeton, NJ offices where it was also designed - in the USA.

do you have to remove the bird to pour the water?

Yes. I have not tried to pour hot water through the bird.

does this kettle work for induction cooktops?

It works perfectly fine on an induction cooktop. I've had my kettle since 1984 and it is indestructible. Funny thing is, on the induction cooktop it comes to a boil so quietly and quickly that at first it seems like it isn't heating. If I can give you some advice it would be to purchase a couple of extra little birds for it because they get fragile and break after a while (like several years). Amazing little tea kettle!

magnifico pezzo di design veramente eterno

ho preso un usato come nuovo... aveva una piccola bozza nella parte inferiore e il tappo che non chiudeva bene e quindi il vapore usciva dal tappo in alto e non dall'ucellino che quindi non fischiava... la piccola ammaccatura a me sta bene e giustifica lo sconto da me ricevuto... il tappo invece l'ho sistemato: ci sono delle piccole lamelle che con un piccolo cacciavite si possono spostare e il tappo poi diventa subito ermetico (spostatele di micron, di frazioni centesimali di millimetro)... e suona... l'ucellino è bellissimo e fa parte di questo design meraviglioso oltre ad essere utile per segnalare che l'acqua bolle... prima di versare attenzione va tolto tirandolo (rimane freddo)... è un design meraviglioso e una manifattura favolosa... è adatto anche all'induzione ed è il modello più famoso da 3 litri. consigliatissimo e già che ci siete prendete anche la moka alessi 9090 da 3 tazze (favolosa). ho preso anche il tegame alessi, padella ballarini e oliera barazzoni... tutto da amazon... utensili kitchenaid e sono felicissimo... amazon mi ha permesso di scegliere i prodotti che volevo facendomene scoprire di nuovi... top
