Whitmor Laundry Hamper with Rope Handles Bamboo, 12.25x16.25x23.375, Dark Stain

I have a pantry that has a few gardens in there. I needed a larger trash receptacle but I did not want it huge. I also wanted a lid for it. I have to trim the tomatoes and peppers weekly and I prune them a lot. I liked the bamboo look to this, the little lid is perfect, the handles on the sides make it easy to move around and I can keep it in the corner, out of the way. A standard kitchen bag fits a little snugly around the top but works fine. It comes with a liner that if you are using this as a hamper, you can pull that liner out to sort your clothes. I imagine if you over stuffed this thing the bamboo would burst. It seems a tiny bit flimsy but it is working great for me as a trash receptacle.

The hamper looks nice and suits my needs, but isn't as sturdy as I had hoped. The lid is not attached, which is annoying, but my 13lb cat likes to sit on top of it and it holds him, so it's strong enough and covers the opening completely. I don't think this would hold up well in a high-use family environment. I use it outside my bathroom for towels, which I transfer to a laundry bag when I'm ready to take it to the laundry room. I wouldn't trust the strength of this hamper if I were lugging it around. The canvas bag inside is lightweight and seems to be well sewn, it is not attached to the frame, which is nice as it could be used to carry laundry and could be washed as needed if it gets dirty. The bag is a bit snug, so getting it out of the frame could be awkward.

This product is very stylish. You cannot move it around too much around the house because the bottom part of it doesn’t stick in. It keeps falling out, so it is not strong as I expected and also if you’re not careful, the bottom section of it will change color and be moldy.

This is a cute hamper . I use another basket to put towels -blankets into . I use it to store and cover my lighter articles of clothing until I am doing laundry . It is a bit flimsy (sturdy enough though) but I would say I'm still happy with the purchase . It's cute and covers my laundry like I wanted . I was sick of seeing my all my laundry so messy . I just don't over pack it and that helps me get to my laundry faster , so less at a time .

I wanted a wood trash can for our office that would be big enough to hold full sheets of paper without crumpling them up. This hamper is perfect for how we're using it, but I'm not sure how well it would work for laundry. The bottom is a thin piece of wood-no more than a 1/4" thick. The hamper keeps its shape using a thin piece of wire bent into a rectangular shape-if that wire gets bent, your hamper may no longer be the right shape. Plus, the sides of the hamper are made of thin bamboo slats, if you ever snap one/some, (because you shoved too much in, or its in a high traffic zone and got bumped) it would not be easy to fix.I'm not using the cloth liner at all, using instead tall trash bags we can easily lift out and carry to the recycle bin. I'm not really using the lid, either, just as a way to cover up my files or laptop from view.In summary, I think there are lots of ways to use this hamper creatively, but probably not in heavy duty or in ways it could get banged up. It's probably best set somewhere safe, and items lifted in or out of it (using the liner or trash bags).

It works well for storing paper and cardboard in the family room, next to the wood stove. We heat with wood, so needed a spot to throw all the paper and cardboard for starting fires that would blend in well and not be noticeable in the family room. This fit the need, and works well. I don't know how well it would hold up or how sturdy it would be for constant laundry use... truthfully, I'd probably add a thicker piece of plywood/particleboard on the bottom if I was going to use it for laundry.

I ended up returning this product and choosing one that was a little bit more sturdy and also an attached lid. I knew that the lid was not attached when I purchased it. The problem was that the lid just sat on it. No guides etc, to keep it in place. That became annoying after 2 days.

This is garbage. The bottom keeps coming off & the clothes fall out. Waste of money
