I bought it for use in roleplaying games, and it works for that.
Roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons have a long history of using dinosaurs as monsters in the game. So, what better dinosaur for a game like that than the king himself? Most fantasy roleplaying games, like D&D, use miniatures in the 25/28mm or 1/72 scale range. This particular T. Rex works pretty well for that scale, in my opinion, though some might find it a little large. To me, it looks almost exactly right when compared to a human-sized figure in those scales. The sculpt, paint, and pose are all very well-done. It's a menacing figure, realistic-looking, and really very sturdy. It would make for a good kid's toy, I think, but I'm going to use it for gobbling up D&D heroes.

Love this updated T. rex. The new posture is now accurate to how it's believed to position itself: horizontal with its tail off the ground. And in this version's case, the tail is not use to solve its standing issue like the previous models. Stands pretty well on its feet, and its size - 9.1" long, 2.8" wide, and 3.7" tall - should make it play/display compatible with other dinos in the range, like its most favored prey* or one of its rivals for the crown**. * = Safari Ltd Wild Safari Edmontosaurus ** = Safari Ltd Wild Safari Dinosaur and Prehistoric Life - Carcharodontosaurus - Roaring and Realistic Hand Painted Toy Figurine Model

MUSCULAR,SOLID,AWESOME
I GOT THIS FOR MY SONS BIRTHDAY. HE WAS THE ONE TO CHOOSE IT. IT IS REALLY COOL AND SOLID. THIS REX'S AMAZING POSE IS REALISTIC. THE TEETH IS SHARP AND SOLID. I WONDER WHY ITS SO MUSCULAR? HAS IT BEEN DOING WEIGHT LIFTING WITH IT'S SHORT ARMS?

Small but detailed
Very life like just incredibly small. My son wasn't very impressed with it. The size may have been a mistake on my part though. I may have just assumed it was taller than 6 inches.

Great toy, a tad smaller than envisioned.
I ordered a whole bunch of these Safari dinosaur toys for my daughter and they are great. Great detail, great quality, very durable. The one criticism I have is that the scale was not done accurately. When you stand them all up in row they all seem to be on the same scale as each other, except the T-Rex. He seems a bit small. They give the accurate measurements in the product description so this is totally on my for not checking, but I wished when they had designed the collection they made sure they were all on the same scale. We will just tell her its a baby T-rex and she will still be thrilled with it! :)
