I should have bought this 30 years ago!
Do you remember the days when you bought something, it came with all the parts you need in the box, and it worked exactly as described? Neither do I but this has restored my faith in USA manufacturing. This attached pretty easily to my ladder and 5 minutes later I was cleaning the gutters on my sloping lot with more confidence than I can ever remember. I was able to do it alone, without having to yell at my wife and in about one third the time I usually take trying to move the ladder and all my bits of wood around. It adds very little extra weight to the ladder itself because the strong heavy part detaches and reattaches easily. All the parts you need to attach it are included, it's super well packaged, and it works flawlessly. I reckon the people who work at Levelok would be proud to go to work each day. Don't waste your time on the cheaper options. This thing is worth twice the price. One other point -go to their website to watch the installation video - not youtube.

Perfect problem solver
Installation was perfect as I followed the directions, which are pretty straightforward if you have the basic mechanical abilities. The provided hardware was complete and of good quality. Best of all, the Levelok works perfectly. It is easy to adjust to the precise needed height, it is very stable, and it is easy to change to the opposite side as needed. I can't belief that I fussed with blocks of wood, bricks and other attempts to level my ladder which were much less safe than this accessory, as there is little level ground and many steps on my property. It's about time I solved that problem.

Changed how I use my ladder
This is a solid product. I hate putting up christmas lights since our yard is far from flat. With this, it was not big deal. I expected it to make a difference when the ground was really unlevel, but I did not realize what a difference it would make when it was only a matter of an inch or two. The ladder sits solidly on the ground and everything is easier as a result. Switching the device from one side of the ladder to the other is not too hard. I'm very glad I sprung for this, it's expensive but I really like it.

Nice leveler for my needs.
I bought this because my lot has a lot of slant to it. I installed it on my Werner 16' aluminum extension ladder and then bought some extra bases and installed them on my Werner 32' aluminum extension ladder. It's a well thought out design and well made. The actual leveler unit is heavy so I like that you can take it off when not needed.I expect that I'll need the full range of adjustment this unit can provide because of the slope in the yard by my house. As it comes out of the box if I mounted the bases as directed then I'd lose about 2" of the available adjustment, that's why I only give it four stars. There are three mounting holes in each base that go on either side of the ladder. The mounting instructions suggest that one should place the bases so that two of the holes are above the bottom rung of your ladder and the other hole below the bottom rung. I can't do this with either of my ladders because that places the mounted leveler "foot" below the "foot" of my ladder which it needs to be level with or above. If I move the bases up so all three mounting holes are above the bottom rung of my ladder then I'm losing or wasting about 2" of the available leveler adjustment because this places the "foot" of the leveler about 2" above the "foot" of my ladders. If there were more than 3 mounting holes available in the bases then one could pick which three to use allowing more mounting options. If one isn't going to need the full range of adjustment then this will never be a problem for them.I really do like the units and do recommend them. I especially like that they are well made and easy to use. My wife has no problem using them by herself on the small ladder.

Ingenious Quick Connect Ladder Leveler Kit
Werner PK70-1 LevelLok Quick Connect Ladder Leveler KitThis kit is well made, strong, easy to install and use, has a pro-quality swiveling ladder foot, works well, and is designed to be rust/corrosion resistant. In an email from the manufacturer, here's what they said:... "the double row of ratcheting teeth and automatic, back-up safety mechanism are both made of stainless steel; extremely resistant to corrosion. The piece (pawl) that engages (locks) into the teeth is made of a specially engineered and processed steel, then plated with a new, innovative corrosion resistant material that lasts 2 times longer than zinc or other common types of metal plating on the market. The double claw, swivel shoe is also treated with the same corrosion resistant material".In spite of the above, since it wouldn't be good for the ratcheting mechanism to get dirty with leaves or other debris, I store the removable leg inside, and sprayed WD-40 on the gearing for even more rust protection. In any case, since the removable leg adds a couple of pounds to the ladder bottom, it only goes one when it's needed. The yard in front of our house slopes down to one side, so when this leveler is needed, it only takes about two minutes to snap it on the side of the ladder with the slope. I lean the ladder against the house and extend the leveler with a foot - the ratcheting mechanism locks it in place. It really is an ingenious device.Even with this device though, if one ladder leg is lower than the other by only an inch or so, I sometimes just use a scrap of wood to bring it level. If it's more than that, this device is allows a ladder to be used safely.
