Seymour Duncan Black Winter Pickup - Trembucker (Bridge)

This is almost as hot as any active EMG pickup, but without the hassle of wiring & batteries. Installed in a 90's Ibanez Iceman guitar. Handles any amount of distortion clearly, but rolls-off nice. Sounds bright & clear when played clean too. I paired it with a Duncan Distortion (bridge model) at the neck. I usually play one or the other, but when played together, get a nice "quack-tone" like a superstrat. Even wired correctly.

Got sick of the EMG 81’s in my ESP M1000 Strat. It’s an alder body with a rosewood fretboard and original Floyd, and it was very bright to the point of even being shrill (to my ears) at times in the high end. I wanted something more organic and sweeter sounding that still could handle the heavier stuff. Replaced the EmG’s with a BW trembucker in the bridge, and the BW Neck. Had it wired with a three way switch and coil taps on the volume and treble, and a treble bleed circuit.Yup, crushing high gain with pronounced mids, tight lows, a much sweeter top end., and clarity—all as advertised and expected. What I didn’t expect was beautiful well-balanced cleans., especially with the coil taps. This pickup could easily be used to cover multiple genres of music with the right amp, contrary to being hyped as just a “black metal” pickup. I play through a Hot Rod Deluxe on the clean channel and use pedals for all of my dirt. They also clean up nice with the volume knob, and they are very sensitive to pick attack.This pickup combo has exceeded my expectations in this guitar. They turned a “metal only” type of guitar that wasn’t getting played as much into a more-versatile well-rounded (and better sounding) and now my favorite guitar again. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade. They absolutely rip too. The only con is that you might want to put them in some of your other guitars as well.

My first install of a pickup! Was fun to learn how to actually do this. I was sort of scared yet knew it would be worth it. The pickup sounds great.

Super badass pickup! Huge jump over the stock jackson pickups! It sounds great playing black metal, death metal, hardcore... Anything loud and scary haha good clarity too
