Does it work with air popped popcorn or do you need to add oil, water, or butter to get it to stick?

Is there a shaker top so you can use this canister directly on the popcorn?

Is the salt iodized?

Is there a reason why the salt is in a different packaging? The one I received is in a yellow shaker. It also is missing the super fine salt label?
