A Luna Moth, a Lightning Beetle, and Mr. Kipling

This lyrical story is a delightful journey into the world Rudyard Kipling. Cuddle up with your little one and get lost in this imaginative tale of a lightning bug and a luna moth and the great storyteller Rudyard Kipling. This read-aloud book would be wonderful to share along with Kipling’s Just So stories. The beautiful illustrations are engaging and the gentleness of the story resonates with the adult reader as well as the young listener. I look forward to sharing this with my little one on a warm summer night when we can chase lightning “beetles” after we read this book together. I loved this story.

Luna Moth can stand up there with Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel. Rubano's writing is colorful, , thought - provoking and sweet. Plus, his use of the real life Kipling brings an historical aspect to this fable. Excellent !
