Junk Violin - Customer pays return shipping
Do not buy this as a starter violin, ideally you wouldn't buy this at all. Its a $40 violin (which is cheap) so you get what you pay for (which is poor quality/craftsmanship) and unfortunately the customer pays for return shipping if you want to return it. To return this, shipping would cost around $30. If you are looking for a starter violin, go to a local music shop first or look into renting if that option is available. Don't buy a violin for under (let's say) $100 off amazon if you or the person you are buying this for doesn't know what they are doing with violins.

For its price you cant really ask for more.
Is it great, no, is it good, still no. Can I use it and notes come out Yes. Was it cheap enough for me to find out if I wanted to learn and invest in a better one. Yup. It did exactly as I expected and I think its absolutely on par for its price. Would buy again.

I don’t know much about violins, but not a great 1st experience so far
I had to replace the strings immediately. The tuners seem to slide very easily and don’t stay in place so you have to constantly keep tuning it.

Go to a Violin Shop for a Violin
I realize this is a cheap violin, but I expected it to be useable. The body is fine. The strings were slapped on hurriedly with one string bent at an odd angle. The bridge was improperly made so that it would not stay in place when I tried to tune the violin. I finally took it to a violin shop to have it expertly repaired & tuned. Now it sounds like the beautiful instrument I expected it to be. My next violin will be purchased from the shop that fixed this one.

Ok for an 5 year old
Plasticy toy feel. Cant get it to play hardly, hard rosin. Got it for my 11 year old beginner. But it looks like it's for a 5 year old

Terrible
Terrible violin! On the first use, the G String broke and would not tighten. When trying to tighten the other strings enough to be playable, the bridge snapped. This seller does not pay for the return shipping, and it turns out the cost of shipping to return is more than the cost of the violin itself. Spend a little more and get a usable violin.

I was Surprised
I'm only a beginner and I got this violin to learn the basics on. I reasoned that I wanted to start out with a cheaper violin, so I wouldn't feel nervous. Now, I did have two strings snap when tuning. I replaced them pretty cheaply. The rosin that came with the violin was good and useable. The violin doesn't come with a shoulder rest, which is very handy to have, but for the price, I'm not complaining. The sound is very good and not what I expected! This is a good violin for those like me who are simply starting out.

Save your money
The bridge did not have notches to place the strings, so the whole instrument was already at a disadvantage. The strings broke easily, no matter how delicate I was with setting the instrument up. I play guitar so I’m used to being carefully when setting up strings, but with this violin it was too difficult. I bought new strings, but even then the bridge couldn’t support it properly. The pegs didn’t keep the strings tuned, and overall it was a bad investment.
