NOT "Half Round"-- But it Does Look Like the Picture. I Like it Regardless
Despite the description stating that this is a "half round brush", it is actually what I've always heard referred to as a "flair" brush. It does look exactly the picture, so it wasn't a huge surprise- I was hoping that the picture was misleading and the brush would actually be half round. It's not really working for me as a styling brush. Maybe I am simply too accustomed to using a full round brush to get the curl I like.Having said that, I still LOVE the brush between shampoos as an everyday brush to smooth out tangles and tame the flyaway hairs. It is a good, no nonsense hairbrush that reminds me of the brushes I grew up using. It is easy to hold onto, and comfortable in the hand- plus the combination of bristles works wonderfully well on my very finely textured hair. I especially appreciate like the little round tips on the longer, porcupine-like bristles now that I have discarded several new brushes that didn't have them. I know I'm tenderheaded, but I never expected a hairbrush to leave my scalp feeling like it was covered in abrasions. OUCH! This brush is gentle on my scalp and that, along with the other features I've mentioned, is worth 5 stars

If you are looking for a brush that adds fullness and body to your fine hair, don't underestimate the power of this brush.
I have used a specific Avon brush for years because it added fullness and body to my thick but fine hair. I have been searching for a similar brush since Avon discontinued that particular brush 4 or 5 years ago. I just by chance happened to see this brush when looking on Amazon and decided to give it a try. This brush met all of my expectations and more. This brush is a small version of the regular size brush but not inconvenient. The construction of the brush using plastic separating teeth along with the brush bristles pull off a great combination for a good brushing and fluffing up of your hair, especially if your hair is fine and lacking body. I ordered three additional brushes to have for my purse, work and one on hand. Try this brush.

Somewhat helpful for combination hair
Works well enough. Smaller than expected. Bought it for combination hair, to help eliminate frizz. It helped some, and made my hair smoother.

Better than originally thought!
The pin-type bristles are great but the black fibers used halfway up the pins cause a lot of static electricity. Also brush is very stiff and pulls hairs.Edit: This brush turns out to work really well with dry shampoo. The long pins lift hair and the short black ones get all the powder out well and since there is a spray-on product in the hair for this, the static electricity is not a problem. So it turned out to be a good purchase after all, IF you ever use dry shampoo =) It also lost some of the original stiffness and catching hair with use.

This brush is great for the purse or for short hair.
I bought this brush and two other to replace one that I had used for years and was finally losing bristles. The other two that I bought were a Feather Du-Boa High Tech Brush and a pureGLO No Static Natural Green Sandalwood Hair Brush - Detangling Massage Hair Comb - Wooden Bristle Cushioned Organic Hairbrush . I have long, straight hair that is relatively thick. This brush would work well for me, but it is small and, for me, would be more like a purse brush. My mother has thin, short hair, and this brush works really well for her. We had been using a boar's hair brush for her that really flattened her hair, and made it look oily. This brush really poofs up her hair and makes it look nice. For me, I prefer the other two brushes mentioned for daily use. They are larger and work better for more hair. I use this brush once in a while to poof up the top of my hair, but for wet/dry brushing of all of my hair, the other two are much more useful for me.

they have beautiful long hair
Looks are deceptive.I thought this would be a substantial brushes considering the price. I originally purchased both for for my granddaughters, they havebeautiful long hair. These brushes feel too light and flimsy on the hand nothing like the substancial Vidal Sassoon brush they love .Perhaps they can use them to travel with as they are so light, I don’t believe they will last long either way. Also they are much smaller than they appear in the picture. In any case it was my mistake, I should have returned them.I will update this review if they surprise me and last.

I love this small well made brush
I love this brush! It is smaller so know that right up front. I use it daily at home. I like how well it's made. The bristles with the plastic tips works great for my fine hair. I use the brush to dry and style my bangs. I have the previous version which is vented and was not able to find that. This works just fine. So hoppy I found it. It's funny how other brushes just don't cut it for me in comparison.

wonderful brush
I have thick, naturally curly hair. I had a hairbrush like this when I was a kid. I used it until there wasn't much left of it. Then I started searching for a new one. I couldn't find one anywhere. The bristles wouldn't be long enough, sturdy enough, and difficult to handle. I would get them all tangled up in my hair and once or twice had to cut it out. Then I switched to a boar bristle brush. Bristles too soft and didn't go through the curls. When I saw this brush I couldn't wait to order it. I love it and it brushes my hair out beautifully.
