The cure for cartoon politics.
I live in a part of the country where most people seem to view politics as some sort of old Saturday morning super hero cartoon show where there are "good guys" (Democrats) and "bad guys" (Republicans) and as each episode in the drama that is politics plays out they always side with the "good guys". There are surely parts of the country where the roles are reversed. Of course, each side has media outlets that reinforce this black-and-white "us or them" mentality over and over, day after day. This book is exactly the right book at the right time, and without going over the content of the book, I can just say that the outrage I felt wasn't so much toward the people whose names are named in the book but rather at the media outlets who are supposed to be telling us stuff like this, but instead just promote the political agendas of whatever side they're on.Isn't this what reporters are supposed to do? But now the reporters are "journalists" promoting their own ideologies, and it's left to bloggers and the occasional rogue author to write about the bad stuff that that people do not because they are Democrates or Republicans, Conservative or Liberal, but because they are flawed human beings who have huge amounts of money and other perks dangled in front of them that they can help themselves to without being held accountable by anyone.I came away thinking that there's just too much lawmaking at the federal level and too much money in Washington D.C. I can't say for sure how I would behave in such an environment. The take home lesson is that power can corrupt anyone, regardless of ideology. I'm glad I turned off the "cartoons" and read this book. It's an eye opener of the kind we need more of.

Dry book
Great informational book but the writing is dry. Hard to keep reading without having to put it down to come back for another try.

Don't just sit there - do something!
Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down except to gasp for a breath of fresh air...To think about how far we have slid is disgusting. If we can't get control of Congress, Fannie Mae, Teacher's Unions, and other organizations, God help us!Thanks to Mr. Morris and Ms. McGann for revealing the abuse, fraud, and corruption we all have been hearing about, but now we know who to go after and why. This is the material that the mainstream media fails to report day after day because they have their own agenda.Thank God for this book. The world can be changed for the better with our call to action, the suggestions made in this book, free thinking through internet communication, and God's grace.

Good but whiny
Shocking - exposes corruption. I can not argue with the points Morris makes. It would be helpful to have a better understanding of both sides of an issue and practical recommendations for handling them. All politicians are not corrupt - many are good, sincere people. He should talk about some of the honest ones too for balance. In general, I think every citizen should read this type of book and demand more from government. It is hard to get consensuses - leadership is the scarce quality. Why has partisanship become so bad? Give us more in depth understanding of what is happening.

Outrage
For those who want to know what goes behind building the political machine, this is a great read. Gives insights to the problems that the United States of America is facing today. Fourteen abuses are probed by the authors and explained in simple terms. Eileen McGann & Dick Morris give a very stimulating read while making these grand issues understandable for those who do not have time or money to research these subjects in deepth.

pay your taxes or make another awful book?
In a long line of barely coherent right wing gibberish, this is the newest piece of garbage

A Blah Political Book
Frankly I didn't get so outraged reading these insane acts of our federal government... BECAUSE there was no real hope of change contained within. Sorry, but that's my view.

Outrage by Dick Morris
I have not finished this book yet but it is one I feel everyone should read before they vote in the November elections. I want to say---------WAKE UP AMERICANS----the lobbyist and special interest groups are in control of Congress and the laws that are made. Both parties are equally at fault over the lobbyist problem and earmarks inserted in bills. The economy will always have problems when our politicians make promises and vote to enhance their own power and wealth instead of voting for what is best for the majority of citizens in this country.
