It explains and its great for beginners and those who have knowledge to sewing and pattern making. I bought the book to make my toddler a flower girl dress I saw online. For those who are looking for the PDF on pg. 27 you need to use Safari and go to Hoaki.com then on the menu tab go to Extra Content and type in your code then it will ask you for your e-mail etc.. then it will send you an e-mail link where you can finally download the same image guide in the book and you can print it out the only thing is that you then need to print out to scale.

Only thing I disliked was there was no design or base pattern included for an ordinary bodysuit for a newborn to toddler, nor a onesie for the same age group.

I am so impressive with the content of the book. I am searching and purchasing a lot of books to teach how to create a pattern in amazon. This book shows very clearly how to make a pattern and how to create a new style. There are some misplaced numbers in the pattern and the instructions but this is a very good source to make the patterns. Highly recommend this book!!!!

I love how timeless the designs are. A lot of the styles and designs would also work for adults. There are many design elements here that can be adapted to clothing for any age group. Since I also have volumes 1-3, I can easily adjust the drafting by following the measurement principles for adults and incorporating the styles from this book.
