Great Knife!
This knife is very nice, especially for the price. I think anyone would like to add this to the collection or simply use this as an EDC knife. It isn't up to the standards of Buck/Case when it comes to traditional folding knives. But I would hope that you wouldn't expect it to with the price. I would recommend this knife to most.

An Old Timer for An Old Timer
My collection includes many USA Schrade knives in various configurations. This one was not made here, but this Taylor Brands knife is in keeping with the Schrades of yesteryear. The ebony & rosewood scales along with the shiny bolsters are reminiscent of the knives once made in Rhode Island. This 29OT shows minor quality control issues, e.g. one scale not precisely flush with bolster, blade looseness when closed, a metallic nick within the ending letter, R, and on one of the diagonal nickel-silver woods separator, and finally imperfect metal cuts behind the lockback bar. Regardless of these minute flaws, the knife remains appealing, and the only addition I wish this knife had . . . brass liners like the ones found in the Schrade originals. I certainly don't consider it a "beater" knife; it's definitely suitable as a gentlemen's knife and the attractive leather pouch reinforces that notion. Pleased to add it to my assortment of other Schrade knives.Postscript: An excellent pocket knife I subsequently purchased is the Sheffield 5" classic folding pocket knife ( model # 12102 ) that substantially surpasses the Schrade in quality and quality control. For less money, it's an impressive knife that draws attention to Sheffield's ability to manufacture knives in China such that it easily eclipses its competitors. Model 12102 is overall superior !

GREAT quality
I love Schrade Old Timer knives! I have a number of them and when I saw this I had to have it AND its smaller version (28OT) and I'm glad i got them both. Great quality, handsome looks, highly recommend BOTH knives. (I assume this and the 28OT are new models, I haven't seen them until now at least)

Well.
The knife is okay a little gritty but came pretty sharp I went ahead and tuned it up. The problem was in the sheath. It came moldy with an anti-mold packet inside of it. I planed on using the knife as a backup hunting knife to my fixed blade but now I’m gonna just have to bring knife in my hunting pack without a pouch. Sure wish old timer would step up their game a moldy leather pouch or sheath is gross

Quality for life
Just bought this Old Timer for my brother in law for Christmas. I had it engraved with an very important date and message. Very nice size to be engraved. Old Timer is a classic. Every man needs one to use and to pass on to the next generation.
