Best velcro rollers!
I have VERY thick, long, frizzy hair. These rollers, *when used correctly* are amazing. I've used some of the cheaper brands of velcro rollers and find these to be the most effective. To use- I roll my hair in these on days I'm not washing it, right before I get in the shower. I don't wear a shower cap, because a little bit of steam moisture really helps the curl to hold. I then either use a diffuser or a blowdry cap to heat up the rollers and set the curl. I let the hair and the rollers cool as long as possible. Carefully unroll from the bottom of my head up, and- Bang! beautiful waves and curls.DO NOT SLEEP IN THESE- these aren't meant for that (look at sponge rollers instead) and your hair will get tangled, it will be a nightmare to take them out.I use the 1.25" for the front of my hair and the crown. Use 1.5" for the next layer down, and 2" for the underneath (just need a little volume, not a lot of curl under there. The negative reviewers seem to not understand how to properly use velcro rollers. Small sections of hair should be used, so if you have a lot of hair like me, you'll probably need a lot of rollers. The smaller the roller, the more curl you will have... obv a 2-3" roller is not going to give you corkscrew spirals.

These Self Grip Rollers Work Great!!!
I have tried several different brands of self gripping hair rollers and these hold my fine hair the best. I ordered two packages and will order some more. I roll my dry hair after washing and then use the blow dryer for about 5 seconds on each roller. I apply my makeup and then fix my hair. These rollers work great.

Want more "grip"
I like that there is a metallic sheet around the core to retain heat when styling. However, I wish the velcro was a bit longer so there's more hold of the hair.

NOT FOR ALL HAIR TYPES
These rollers are okay. They may not be as effective on all hair types. I have thick straight Asian hair and have tried the rollers several times after my hair is somewhat but not fully dry. Because my hair is long, I have to use hot roller clips to keep the rollers in place while blow drying them with heat. My high-end ceramic ionic thermal roll brushes create a far better curl as well as staying power than these self grip ceramic rollers. The rollers are made of a soft flexible plastic with an exterior layer of tiny short bristles and what appears to be a thin foil lining the interior.

Do you have soft/fine hair? These will destroy it.
As a rule I avoid "self grip" rollers but these diane rollers were quoted as not the kind of self grip that rips out your hair. Liars. These have a decent amount of grip so you will rat-up the hair that gets attached. Even more irritating, wrapping multiple layers around the core means multiple layers of hair get ripped - even the hairs not directly touching the core - if you apply air/heat to them. You'll want to apply heat to them to release the ions so . . . no point getting these if you are air drying or have soft hair. These are best for coarse hair where extra texture won't be a problem.Strongly recommend against for fine or soft hair.

Great!
They worked great for the price. Not good to sleep on but they weren’t meant for that. The metal inside made it curl faster with use of hair dryer or low dryer.

They work great and don't fall out
These rollers have a better "grip" than the velcro rollers I have used for years. These make a noise, but that's okay. I do feel like I need to be extra careful removing the rollers so I won't break or damage my hair. But these are a great problem-solver for me...I have been looking for the right rollers for a long time.
