will this brand of pex burst if water is left in the line and freezes

NO it will not. The fittings will crack if they freek. I work on mobile homes and we ONLY use Pex or Sharkbite Pex tube. I have seen the entire 100 feet freeze and it just swels up a tiny bit. Any fitting that freezes though will crack and burst or leak. Do all home run lines and put a heat tape on it if your woried it may get exposure to winter freezing temps. I have done over 60 homes with this and always get this question.

This is not PEX-A (more often referred to as AquaPEX). This is PEX-B, the most common variation of the three types available. AquaPEX has some benefits, such as less coil memory so that it is easier to work with as well as more resistance to bursting if water freezes in the tubing. It is not better quality, it is just manufactured differently and the letter signifies what method of installation can be used. You only need to use AquaPEX if you are using the expansion method which requires the PEX to expand to accept the fittings. It then resumes its shape around the fitting with the help of special expansion sleeves. With PEX-B, the crimp method is used. You could use AquaPEX with the crimp method, but you could not use PEX-B with the expansion method since it is not designed to expand to the tolerances necessary. AquaPEX is also 40% more expensive and not readily available everywhere. You generally need to buy this type at a plumbing supply house.
