Got tired of having my D2S Xenon Ballast's failing in my e39 530 so I tried a set of 4200 Lumen per bulb / 8400 Lumen per set 60W Led's. Light output was comparable to the factory Xenon's but I wanted a tad bit more light so I sprung for the 8000LM / 16000LM to see if there would be an improvement over the 4200 Lumen.I have to say, "WOW" what an improvement.I monitored the targeting before I replaced the prior LED's and matched the targeting for these and after a test drive the improvement was amazing.Much better width in the beam pattern while still retaining the factory Z pattern. Those who don't know what a Z beam pattern is you have to go back to the early days of Halogen lighting, like back to the 1980's and Cibie headlamps.There were European cut off and then Cibie brought out the Z-Beam. Most U.S. Spec euro cars have the Z-Beam pattern.I ordered an extra set just to keep in the trunk in case of premature failure.I'll measure the actual current to make sure they don't exceed the current rating of my LCM, I don't suspect there will be any problem. Looks like they only draw 3 amps at 12Volts or 36 Watts which should be safe even though they state 80 watts. I think the 80 Watt claim is an equivalent claim and not the actual current draw.
