This is a great lock and serves its purpose very well. Locking mechanism is smooth (you can use triflow to lube it too). Pay attention to the model. The shackle thickness differs and you’ll want to confirm it fits your use case. The Abus site will have that.

You never know if this lock was a good, but expensive, investment until a crook tries to pick or break it. For sure, it seems very impervious to the elements, and the ease of use is great. I purchased the lock to secure a shipping container while I do some remodeling at home. Unfortunately, I'm yet to find one of those containers that have a protective lock-box welded on that makes it easy to engage a decent lock. At it's worst, this lock will be picked or otherwise compromised very quickly by an experienced criminal. At it's best, this imposing looking lock will likely dissuade a novice thief. Unfortunately, YouTube shows very precisely how to pick this lock open in no time. It's strong, but not foolproof. For career criminals, there are few locks that provide reliable protection...at any price.So far, I'm happy with this lock. It is easy to open and close and I have no doubt that it will hold up to the bad weather that is yet to come. However, I still make a conscious decision about what I'm willing to risk by depending on this heavy-weight security device.

This lock has the best design to prevent tampering. Hard to open with a hammer or bolt cutters. Very heavy and robust construction. So far, so good. Feel more confident from being robbed.

This lock is by far superior to any other lock I've owned. It's heavy and the locking mechanism works flawlessly and extremely well made. I may buy another!

well i thought i was doing better than buying a 4,99$ pad lock it did put up more of a fight about the same fight from the american pad lock squared version, again 4.99$ or 27$ was defeated all the same but im stuck with it and will use it for my U lock for my bike even though most bike thieves use the saw or crow bar.looks great love the designlocking feature is easy to managebut it failed the pick test imo

I purchased one of these locks a few years ago and it has held up perfectly, I didn't have any issues with it. However, it recently came to my attention that these locks can be bypassed very easily with the right tool. Just do a search for "abus 82/90 bypassed" and you can see what I am referring to.
