I read in bed and use this without the arms every morning. I can adjust the tilt which I really like. I use it on top of my lap desk pad to make my reading of my super-thick book ver easy. .

I am developing AMD and reading is becoming a problem. For some reason, putting my book in this stand under a bright light really helps me! It is also easy to use and adaptable to different reading material.

Does exactly what I need for my school books (yes, I still use physical books!) Works on small thick books (like drug guides) as well as larger text books. LOVE the ability to change the angle and width depending on my positioning and the positioning of the book/computer. My only complaint is the storability. I don't want to keep taking the slides in and out as I'm concerned it could affect the functionality of the product. I don't know if there's anything that can be done to make it take up less space when putting it away and keep the functionality, but if anyone (including the manufacturer) has any ideas I'm all up for it!

This book holder works exactly as described. It is able to hold my thick nursing book with no issues. I recently purchased another one for my daughter and she loves it.

Would be fine for certain uses. Just not ours. A little too lightweight for heavy books, like our Bible.
