QuickBooks 2008: The Missing Manual

A great book for someone just starting a business. I came to a business after they had about 6 months of Quickbook. I needed to learn Quickbooks after it had been used for a while. The main thing I learned was, USE A CPA to start the setup. If your business is bigger than 2 or 3 employees Quickbooks can become quicksand with no knowledgeable oversight. Book goes over the basics of starting up very thoroughly and can be a great help in setting up the books!

Quickbooks has lots of online help, and the help menu within QB is pretty comprehensive, but I like to have things in print. It's just easier and faster for me to find things. Plus, this book is useful when you're setting up your company file, which, in QB, you pretty much need to know how to do before you install the program.

Every time I want to check how to do something in Quickbooks I have been able to quickly find the answers in this book. Also the writing is very easy to understand making it very easy to recommend this book. It's a great stress reducer knowing I can turn to an experienced users knowledge whenever needed.

It has been a long time since we used this book,. If I remember correctly, it was very helpful while we were using Quick Books 2008. We are now into a later version of Quick Books and my husband can learn anything. That is what happens when you are married to a very intelligent man.Betty
