The master story teller delivers yet again
After D-Day and Stalingrad, this is my third Antony Beevor book and what a book it is. Based on the ill planned and ill .executed Op Market Garden, this book delivers a blow by blow account of the operation. The vivid descriptions of battle and direct quotes from the participants themselves is what really makes the whole book so interesting. Must buy if you love reading WW2 history!

Beevor's brilliant battle narrative
ARNHEM is Antony Beevor's brilliant battle narrative and astute analysis of the failure of Operation Market Garden, the Allied attempt to take the bridge at Arnhem, Holland over the Rhine River. He covers the actions of the courageous American, British and Polish paratroopers and their comrades in the infantry and armored formations with perceptive prose and great insight. Beevor wrote with skill, knowledge and great empathy for the soldiers and civilians involved in this tragic episode of the Second World War.

Mais um Beevor!
Ainda não li o livro adquirido, está na fila! Mas Antony Beevor não precisa de recomendações! Sem dúvida, é hoje o melhor historiador das grandes batalhas da Segunda Guerra Mundial, no teatro europeu.
