Great moderately priced tent for the casual camper
In my opinion, Coleman owns the moderately priced, mainstream camping market. There are other brands that might be higher quality (and higher price) but Coleman has never let me down. This tent is easy to put up. I go camping with my 11 and 9 year old daughters, and we can put it up in 15 minutes without breaking a sweat. There are 2 cross poles for the tent, and 1 cross pole for the rainfly, and the rest is just staking it out.I have found the tent to be sturdy, and most importantly, waterproof. The last 2 camping trips it has rained heavily, and the tent stayed dry(except for water that we tracked in as we went in and out). There are mesh openings on all sides, which allows for good ventilation. For privacy, the rainfly covers the mesh on the sides, and the front and back mesh can be closed. I have not taken this tent cold weather camping for 2 reasons. First, I don't do cold weather camping, and second, this is a lightweight tent with lots of mesh, so it will not keep you warm. I would say this a 3 season tent, but don't plan on taking it on your extreme winter camping trip. They make different/better tents for cold weather camping.A couple of nice little features include a simple divider which can be used to divide the tent in half and create 2 rooms, small pockets sewn into the inside of the tent in 2 places that can be used to put your glasses, flashlight, etc., and a pass through flap so you can reach your cooler without having to leave the tent.Overall a nice tent, and well worth the price.

Great tent, did not leak
I purchased this tent for a week-long camping trip to the Rockies with my son last summer. During the week, it rained several times at night, and the tent never leaked. It also withstood wind in the night which made me wonder if the poles would break, and although the tent buckled in several times, it snapped right back and nothing broke. I did have the fly staked down well due to the wind. The stakes provided are probably not good enough in high wind - I recommend getting better stakes for the four corners and the fly.The walls slope up at an angle such that when unzipping the door, it tends to flop into the tent, and if it's wet, it drips into the tent. It's quick and easy to set up, two people are pretty necessary to do it though.Realize that when buying a tent, and it says a "six person" tent, it means six people who are very comfortable with being very close to each other. It's really more suited for four people, if you plan to have anything besides people inside the tent (like your gear). With only two of us, we had all sorts of room.I find the little "CoolAir port" to be a bit strange, it's like a little doggie door. But it allows you to peek out while lying down. This is a great tent for the price!

Huge storm / dry campers
The first night out in this tent there was a huge thunderstorm. I thought for sure water would come in or the stakes would come up as the tent rocked but neither did. I even had a dream that night that our sleeping bags got wet but when we woke up everything was dry. We still had pretty good ventilation even with the rain fly on. The tent took less than 10 minutes to put up/take down with two people and can be done alone in 15 min. The only thing I question about this tent is the ability to sleep 6. Six children, maybe. We had 2 adults and one 7 year old and our duffel bags with the clothes we needed for 2 days in there and I dont think we could have comfortably slept more than 4 total. This doesnt bother me since I bought the bigger size to have extra space, not to sleep 6 but it could be important to another buyer. Having been in leaky tents before I am so glad I purchased this one. I definitely recomend it.

last one burst into flames
ive used this tent 15+ times over the last 2 years... it did not leak any of the times we were rained on and did not tear apart when we had 30-40mph winds... setup is super easy and does not need to use the tiedown strings or anchor points to get it to hold itself up... setup takes less than 5 minutes with nothing more than a small flashlight for light... the two main poles are the same size... the tarp pole is much smaller and very easy to identify... the elastic bands in the poles have held up just fine... when threading the poles PUSH dont pull..

The Best 6 Person Tent I've Found
I camp a lot and this tent really makes the experience enjoyable. In terms of setup, I can do it by myself in about ten minutes. If you're setting it up by yourself, it is easiest to steak the tent out first and put the poles in second. The tent comes down as easy as it goes up. What makes this so easy to setup is that there are only three poles. The two long ones are used for the tent and cross to make a dome and the smaller one is used for the rainfly. I don't like tents with several different poles of varying size because they make setup difficult; you won't have that problem with this tent.In terms of staying dry ... I've put this tent to the test. I encountered a severe storm that was scary enough I rode the storm out it my car. From my car, I watched the wind whip this tent around. The steaks and guy lines kept the tent in place and when the storm ended, I returned to the tent and it was perfectly dry. Others in my group were not so lucky. Some of their tents were blown from the stakes and others were drenched inside. I've also camped during an all night moderate to heavy at times rainfall and the tent remained dry again. As a dome tent, every point on the tent slopes down so rain won't accumulate on the tent - rather it rolls off.The mesh sides provide for plenty of ventilation even with the windows up. The rainfly covers the mesh sides and windows/doors to the tent so when it is raining and you must enter or exit the tent, you won't encounter water getting it.The tent is extremely roomy for a six-person tent and you can stand in the center of the tent (nice when you're getting dressed).I have tried other tents, some much more expensive, and none have performed as well as this one. It's my favorite and knowing that I can ride out any weather makes my camping experience with this tent enjoyable. I'd give it more stars if I could.
