I Hate Mice!
These traps are easy to set; I used peanut butter as bait. When a mouse goes into the trap, it can't get back out. The best thing about these traps is the fact that you never see or touch the mouse. My only complaint is the price. They are approximately $6.00 each and after the mouse is caught, you throw the whole thing away. Now you have to bait another $6.00 trap and throw it away when it's done its job. Somebody suggested opening the trap door and dumping the dead mouse out and then reuse the trap. The whole purpose of buying these traps was so I didn't have to see or touch the mouse! IMO, each trap should cost $3.00, no more than $4.00 and even that is a rip-off for those of us who need more than one or two traps.

The mice are just too damn smart!
I've put out 4 of these and watched the super smart mice just walk right on past. I've tried peanuts, peanut butter, honey with cheerios....and still they just laugh and walk on by.I'm going to try one more time using their special sauce attractant. If that doesn't work I'm going to ask for all my money back, traps and their goo. We're past the Amazon return date so this will have to go back to Tomcat to put up or shut up.Maybe these are Harvard or MIT mice...sigh

Peace of mind! Best product!!!!
I discovered mouse droppings under my powder room vanity 3 days ago. I purchased this product with 2 day shipping as a back up since I hadn't seen any droppings within the past 24 hours after cleaning and spraying with peppermint oil which is a natural repellent. So, I thought the mouse was gone. I received my order yesterday 7/6/18. At any rate, I ordered 2 sets which gave me 4 traps. The instructions were easy plus I watched the video. I discovered they did not come with bait. No worries, an easy fix as I had some peanut butter in the fridge. I would recommend using peanut butter since it easily adheres to the bait door and you only need a little. So I placed 1 under the sink and the additional 3 in the pantry, laundry room and kitchen all against the wall as recommended. I suggest you tape them in place as I used packing tape doubled on the bottom to be more effective as the trap is very light and I found one was easily set off so this would help to prevent a false trigger that would alarm the mouse and send him into suspicion. I woke up this morning to find no droppings and three of the traps still set. To my surprise one dial said "mouse caught". I was elated, yet it didn't appear to have anything in it. I Had my husband confirm by weighing the trap and sure enough it had contents. Then he went a step further and probed (which I didn't have the heart to) and saw a small tail. Luckily if you don't want to see it...these are GREAT. The trap is reusable or you can discard it in the trash. All containted. I will clean the baited traps and shelve them until needed in the future.

Hate to admit we've had mice, but I'd recommend to those in need
Very easy to use and effective. Don't have to worry about touching a dead mouse. Can easily see if one has been caught. If you're unsure you can open and check without touching a dead mouse by accident as well. Have used this specific model for years. Have tried others that were slightly cheaper, but came back to these. The first year we owned the home, we caught a number of mice. Since then, we seem to catch 2 mice at a time, every 2-3 years. Hired a professional to pest proof our home, with a 2 year guarantee even, and they can't figure out how the mice get in. Not counting the first year (or our shed), over about an 11 to 12 year period, we've caught about 10-12 mice. If you have a more serious problem, I'd come up with a cheaper solution (check youtube - mousetrap rolling log 5 gallon bucket; gross but effective).I've also used the 'spinner' type traps outside in my shed. One worked; one didn't. Was a little harder to see if something was caught. I had another mouse actually make a home inside the one that failed.I've also used the trap with batteries and electrocutes them. Worked well once. Tossed the mouse. Killed another but didn't know, didn't smell anything. By the time I did find it, it was really gross and no longer worked. Was very expensive for 2 mice.I've also used the traps that 'catch' them via a one way ramp and 'holds' them. They have never been caught via this.I've also tried glue traps. Never caught anything via that.Hate to admit we've had mice, but I'd recommend to those in need and will continue using these if necessary.

Do not waste your money
The media could not be loaded. Even after reading a lot of the other reviews, I decided to "Try" this product out. I received the product later than promised and when it finally arrived, they would not work. I could not get the traps to "Set." I finally found (what I think is the manual release trigger at the bottom) then played with that a little and was able to Set the Trap. Once set, as soon as I softly set down the trap (as per other reviews), the trap disarmed itself. I'm also not sure how easy it would be to get the mouse out of the trap in order to reset for the next one. Since I cannot use it, I can only guess. There is a lot of room at the top and with the mouse being thrown to the back, not sure how easy or difficult it may be to slide him out of the little hole. There are also lots of places where the mouse "Germs" can come out of the trap, making it less sanitary than other traps. On a side note:This may sound a little weird to some, but I really don't like the fact that I have to kill an animal to get it out of my house, but I know it is a necessary evil as the no-kill "Trap and release" method does not work here . I really don't want them to have to suffer, but upon further investigation of this trap, I'm not sure how the mouse will not suffer when caught. Other covered traps that I have used, have a single piece that comes down to snap their poor little necks. This looks like the mouse is thrown against 5 plastic bars at the back of the trap... Even if these traps would stay set, I would still return them due to the internal design. (Which may not be less humane than the others, but it just seems brutal)
