I honestly don't know if I would have even thought to pick this up had it not been on a discount. Hot chocolate from water and from a pod isn't my thing at all. Not even a little. Add in that it's a pod of water hot chocolate for a machine that makes really good milk drinks and it's not even a blip on a blip on my radar.It should have been because it's delicious. Most powdered hot chocolate uses a ton of sugar to fool you into thinking it's great. This does the opposite. The flavor of it is so true that you can really enjoy it, sometimes forgetting that it's not milk hot chocolate. (if you know, you know). It's great by itself when you just want a hot cocoa whenever but is also great to make one of these, then put in an espresso shot for a quick mocha*. Yes, I know... it's not a mocha but still and don't even get me started on some of the other things that call themselves mochas. I'm looking at you gas station "cappuccino machines"...They're great and whenever I run out of this box, whether or not it's on sale, these have a permanent place in my pantry.

Rich authentic dark chocolate taste. Great on its own in an espresso cup or mixed with coffee.Recommendation: these are not like the coffee pods which need bar pressure to extract the drink through the grounds, all these are are dissolving crystals. My recommendation is to cut open the capsule and pour the chocolate right into the cup and do the hot water separately, because I found if you put the capsule in the machine you lose some of the chocolate.Edit: the last two times they shipped this order to me they sent lavazza Nespresso coffee pods instead of these lavazza blue chocolate pods.

A great alternative drink on a cool day. Very chocolate flavored, easy to use and loved by the entire family.

The taste was off and it was too watery. I threw the whole case in the trash

I make a macchiato with a Lavazza coffee pod then an “espresso” with the chocolate pod - delish!

Lavazza is the best

I'm writing a review because many who purchased gave negative reviews due to treating this pod like it was meant for a cup of hot chocolate. This is NOT what the product is intended for. The description clearly states that this is an accompaniment to your Lavazza beverage, or can be enjoyed alone as a 4oz shot (lungo). Anything more than 4oz will in fact make it too watery. This is truly meant to make a caffe mocha, which is a milk based espresso that contains a shot of espresso and a shot of chocolate.As a mocha, it is delicious. If all you want is a warm chocolate drink, a lungo shot should satisfy your needs as well. If looking for an 8oz cup of hot chocolate, this is not made for that purpose.

For whatever reason, there is a lot of chocolate left in the pod which makes the drink too watery.
