Very good, but not quite a Bible App
I downloaded a sample for my Kindle Touch and am favorably impressed with the presentation of the Bible text. The prefixed chapter/verse superscript and paragraph format make for a much more readable text than other versions which are formatted line-by-line with a distracting locator string prefixed to each verse. (That locator string is a three-tuple consisting of book name, chapter number, verse number (GENE 1.1). There is no question that it aids navigation and orientation.)There are some rough spots, however. The application is an e-reader, not a Bible App per se. And one must live within the e-reader supplied functionality. This is what I've discovered so far:What works:o ToC hypertext linkso text search (could be better; see below)o page forward/backward (EasyReach and swipe left/right)o chapter forward/backward (swipe up/down)o back arrow (popping the hyperlink stack)o locator indices (Menu->Go To Index) are searchable (if you remember to change the search domain to "Index")Regarding paging: One must rely from time to time upon the swipe to go forward and backward, since the EasyReach Back region of screen (left margin) can be compromised with link active text (e.g. ToC).What could work better:o Text searchThe resulting list of search hits do not show the book of the Bible in which they are located. (I understand the decision by some e-Bibles use of a line prefix which includes book name abbreviation). Fortunately, one can page forward/backward to find the chapter heading which contains the book's name. I haven't figured out how to restrict the search domain--it defaults to the entire text. I wish I could restrict it to OT/NT/Gospels/Epistles, etc.(I use the Laridian Pocketbible App on my iPhone and it is the standard against which all others are measured. Search hits are identified by book, obviating the need for book name in line prefixes.)This is after all an e-reader, not a Bible App. However, if the e-reader where enhanced with location domains for the search, and user definition of multiple domains were permitted, this would solve the problem. Having said this I admit there is probably limited appeal--most do not need such functionality. All in all a very good KJV Bible "application" which I shall use everyday with great enjoyment. (4.5 stars)

Great Bible for the Price
This is a leather Bible on the cheap side for Cambridge. No art gilding, it's just gold gilt. The leather is thinner than the premium line but also a much lower cost. It is black text only, and no footnotes, so it's less distracting. The font is stated as 8 point and very bold. I had no problem reading it. The paper is not as nice as the goatskin Turquoise, but, it is nicer than a lot of other Bibles. It is less than half the price of a Turquoise. I think it's overall a great Bible.

Very impressed with this sturdily built gem
This is my first Cambridge bible in black French Morocco leather. It is printed in Belarus by Printcorp. The leather cover is sturdy and feels like the other Cambridge bibles in calf leather since they all have the same grainy texture. Am truly impressed by its slimness and lightness which is absolutely lovely. It is also smaller than most handsized bibles such as the regular Cambridge Concord reference bible. Definitely a handy bible to take with you to church since it is not clunky and heavy at all.It also has dark and even print throughout - something which the much vaunted and overpriced Cambridge Concord bibles fail miserably at! There are no references in the text to distract you from reading and studying GOD's word too. However, do note that the text block is not by Cambridge which some readers have complained about. For example, the 'Spirit of God' is set as 'spirit of God.' It was created by Eyre and Spottiswoode in the mid-20th century round about the 1950s when it was then known as the King's Printer in the UK. It was sold to Cambridge Press eventually and Cambridge continues to print this bible under the Emerald text moniker. Just be thankful you are holding a vintage piece of history when this bible is in your hands! And read His WORD daily!!

This is a great study Bible
For a picky KJV Bible reader and believer as myself, its a almost perfect choice. As someone who likes a Bible with no notes, and a simple standard text Bible, its a deal. The only flaws I have found is that the top of the Bible is a subtitle that says "Maxims and observations" and a different one on page pg 734 saying "The vanity of idols and sorceries". There is no added doctrine added by Cambridge, in Genesis 1 the word spirit usually is capitalized, its in lowercase in this given case. There's no words of Christ in red, but only a straight back text. I am okay with the words not being in red in the NT. If I am not correct on this do your own research but the I heard that the words of Christ in red came long after 1611. The last feature I saw very helpful is the list of unfamiliar objects, animals, plants, weights, measures and money, and words no longer in every-day use, or one used with a different meaning. If you want a Bible without Charles Ryrie, or C. I. Scofield, or any other so called scholar this is a great pick.

Excellent value
This is what is called a handsized bible. I like it because it has no center column references, which make it easier to read. Also, the text is very black, which is also a plus. It has a bible reading plan in the back, and a modest dictionary of bible words. It came with leather binding, and sewn pages. It has one ribbon. So, there are no maps, no concordance, no wide margins, and no red letter for Jesus words. One "con" is the covers are not sewn.Considering this is from Cambridge University Press, where you can spend $200.00 for a bible, this is a good value.

Great quality for the cost
The leather feels great, much more supple than I expected and it lays flat pretty well for being brand new. Paper quality is alright, but not the best. The ghosting is less pronounced than pictures would suggest. Overall, very pleased with this Cambridge Bible.
