Good quality, holds vacuum well, nicely made. Annoying hose fitting/hose. Overall it's just what you expect - would buy again.
I use this to stabilize wood blanks for knife handles (I make chef's knives). That means submerging chunks of wood in a resin, applying vacuum to suck air out of the wood pores, then letting it repressurize to atm to drive the resin into the pores. There's a lot of foaming involved. This pot works very well for that. It holds good vacuum, according to the gage anyhow - gets right near -30mm and holds it for a long time, so the seal's good, the valves are good, and the assembly/sealing is good. I have only 2 comments/quirks/suggestions:(a) the hose is a major pain to connect to the vacuum pump. It's not a swivel or collar fitting (like a garden hose) - that may be a problem for vacuum fittings in general but I've not found the same problem in the high-pressure world (and I deal with pressures up to ~150 bar). What happens is that you need to screw the hose's female fitting onto the male pump fitting, which requires rotating the rather rigid hose unless you want to pull it off the barb. If you've already put the other end on the barb fitting of this chamber's valve, forget it. And it's even worse, spill-wise, if you've got the vacuum pump with vac oil in it and the liquid in the vacuum chamber (don't ask me how I know this). And EVEN if all works well connecting it, the hose has a nasty 'memory' and really, really wants to kink up - enough to start trying to tip the lid off the chamber or even tip the chamber over unless you start clamping things down.(b) given that you're not supposed to shut off a rotary vane pump under vacuum to avoid damaging it, but that we wood stabilizers (and this a really common use besides extracting solvent from 'medicinal' oils ;-) like to pull a vacuum until the air's out and the bubbling stops - THEN leave the pot under vacuum for a long time! - it'd be a nice little feature if we could release the pump-side pressure while keeping the pot sealed and in vacuum, so we could then turn off the pump while it's 'seeing' atm. I guess that's one more valve, which is cost, but it's really just a few bucks more in brass and thread sealant - not even a lid hole. But that's just picky - not a defect, just a user-usability suggestion.

Perfect size for smaller casting jobs; very good cost for what you get
I was contemplating making a vacuum chamber from parts, but then found this at less than it would have cost for just the fittings, gauge, and vacuum tube. The lid seals to the chamber perfectly, and up to maximum vacuum I don't see any deformation. None of the fittings leak, and using a cheap vacuum pump, I can get the chamber down to max vacuum in under 10 seconds. It's also big enough to fit all of my mixing cups (largest I generally use is 12oz). If you're doing bigger jobs, you'll need a bigger pot, but for casual DIY crafting and low-volume production stuff, this is great.

GOOD PRODUCT,
this isn't really a review about the product, but the people who make it. I just got my Vac Chamber in the mail a couple days ago, and when I was going through the parts bag, I found a few sheets of parchment paper, and another peice of paper that stood out. I unfold it and find a HAND-WRITTEN NOTE! The note just said:" Hi there, Thanks for your purchase! Hope you enjoy the chamber! wish you a happy everyday!"I was impressed to see something so personal in today's day and age.Usually people wont take the time to hold the door, so its good to see a bit of kindness sent to a random stranger. and trust me, I AM RANDOM. penguins. see? told you.UPDATE 2/15/17it works, but you have to put some pressure on the lid to get the vac started, I had to use a clamp to get it sealed and started, but after pulling 8-10cm I could take the clamp off. There were also some marks in the silicone like it had been scuffed and a little indented, which may explain the issue starting the vac

Saves money on hearing aids
I use mine to dry out my expensive hearing aids. I bought a small 1/5 hp vacuum pump (SPX Robinair model 15115) from Amazon about five years ago, for an air conditioner application. I bought the Ablaze vacuum chamber with the hope that I could match it up to my vacuum pump. To my joy and surprise it was a perfect match--no new adapters, fittings, etc. required--everything just screwed together.I use the vacuum system to dry out my $5,200 hearing aids. Before I put this vacuum system together, the hearing aids would get humidity inside and eventually stop working. This meant an appointment with the ear doctor and a trip to her office--very inconvenient! Now I just put the hearing aids in the vacuum chamber, run the pump for 10 minutes, close the vacuum chamber to trap the vacuum. and let the hearing aids degas overnight in the chamber. Next morning the aids work perfectly.

Does what it says!
Weird how hard it is to find an actually airtight container for vacuum degassing but it's amazing that there's options like this still well within my price range. After trying and failing to make a DIY vacuum chamber out of a regular clasped jar with a silicone o-ring I found out I could just get a real one for still pretty cheap.

Great product. Holds a seal very well.
In my experience, this has been an outstanding product. It holds an airtight seal at a full -30hg for well over 24 hours. It doesn’t leak at all - I have yet to see it lose any decompression.. It doesn’t need any oil or anything around the rim- it just works straight out of the box as is.
