Cold War Confrontations: U.S. Exhibitions and Their Role in the Cultural Cold War

A fascinating perspective on US participation in Expos
This is an excellent book in many ways:- Provides insights and background on the motives behind US participation in numerous Expos and exhibitions.- The writing is wonderfully informative while being economical.- It contains many pictures and illustrations which, in my experience, have not been readily available elsewhere.- The book itself is beautifully designed and organized, a work of art in its own way. While, having read the book now, I fully understand the title, I think it may send a slightly "heavy" message to would-be readers. For anyone sitting on the fence, with an interest in exhibitions, trade fairs, world's fairs, international exhibitions and the US role in these in past decades, this is an excellent, informative and even fun book.

Splendid!
I knew this would be good, but it is really, really, superb! I have a great interest in this subject, and so I've researched extensively on this topic of "Cold War cultural exchange", but this has a plethora of information, and especially photographs, that I've never seen. Top - class design, too, and this I'd recommend to anyone interested in Cold War history, post - war graphic design, and "Atomic Era" social/cultural commentary. The writers bring a now somewhat obscure historical topic to life, and even a casual reader will not be able to put this book down - simply excellent!
