This is a wonderful book. I have had a strong interest in the Kennedy presidency for more than sixty years now and so Bunny Mellon has crossed my path of interest from time to time. But this book sums it all up, that effortless style and understated elegance from Cape Cod to Antigua, over Virginia and France. One disappointment is her home in Manhattan. She should have kept the two brownstones and use her 'style' to turn them into an exquisite restoration rather than replace them with a French patrician house, a little bit out of context. This book should be read together with the equally wonderful publication on Bunny Mellon's gardens in which her extensive horticultural library and the way she used her sense of understatement and style to turn the JFK grave site in Arlington into a timeless memorial stand out.

Very enjoyable pictures and entertaining narrative. I also loved the illustrations - I thought they portrayed an intimate side of Bunny’s lifestyle. A great coffee table book.

Captures Bunny Mellon’s spirit and her impeccable sense of style

Overall, a very underwhelming tome on Bunny Mellon's homes. Though a rather large book, it was not filled with great pictures fo the exteriors and only vignettes of many of the interiors. More artist renderings than actual photographs. I enjoyed Bunny Mellon's Garden Journal, and thought this would be a perfect companion (filling in more information and images of her numerous, iconic homes).I pursued through it twice, and nothing caught my eye as exemplary, and I have quickly added it to my box(es) going to Half Price Books for Resale - a costly mistake for buying it prior to reading any review.Others may like it, but sadly I did not. As a collector (somewhat of a hoarder) of coffee table books, this was a disappointment.
