PDP Pixel Pals - Pixel Pals 8-Bit USB Adapter - Not Machine Specific

Fits and works perfect with you PixelPal (look at chart to see which one fits yours), very long chord included. It is really nice to power the PixelPal w/o eating up batteries. This is the best price I have found too. I highly reccomend this, making your PixelPal more practical as a nightlight.

I ordered 2 chargers and got 4 AAA batteries and some 3" cut cable instead. Photo was added. I opened both boxes just to be sure one wasn't a fluke and sure enough, the same thing was in both boxes. Instructions were for the USB charging port but this is nothing like what is expected or what was ordered. Of course I'm returning it!!Update: They took the items (batteries...) back and sent the correct items. I am still leaving ONE star because of what happened though. Otherwise, the USB adapter works great.Update to my last update: I have decided to change to 5 stars. In the end, once the correct item was sent (which was very quickly done), all works great. My children use the Pixel Pals as their nightlights and this item has been working almost non-stop since I got it. Great item!

I picked up a Pixel Pal and enjoyed it, but was disappointed to find that not only did it require batteries, but that the display brightness would diminish along with the battery life. This solves both problems: the Pixel Pal now displays with a consistent brightness and I never need to worry about batteries.This set comes with the battery door cover and a USB cord, but no power source. You will need to plug it into a USB port or power adapter.It's a shame these are sold separately (and not in stores as far as I've seen), and it's also too bad that there are different models that work with different Pixel Pals. Be sure to verify that what you're purchasing matches the Pixel Pal you plan to pair it with. I can personally vouch that this works with Megaman and Raccoon Mario.

The actual product is a must have for the Pixel Pal as it eliminates the need for changing standalone batteries. Will you get the actual product though? I ordered this new, directly from Amazon and recieved the box on the left. It contained a cable that looked cut and a battery pack, which definitely was fishy. I ordered a replacement, which arrived the day after and is pictured on the right. There wasn’t much of a difference between the boxes aside from the label over the barcode on the left box. Both were sealed with the Pixel Pal sticker as well.Once you get the actual product, works as intended. I’m just really surprised I had issues with an item sold by Amazon. There was another review stating the same issue, so I wanted to throw this review with some pictures out there in case anyone else runs into this in the future.

The product description seemed to indicate that this USB adapter would charge the adapter, then you could unplug it, and put it wherever you want until it needs to be recharged. All it is is a wired solution to batteries. The unit does not recharge nor work unless plugged into a power source, thereby defeating the point of have it displayed wherever you want and lighting it up, plus being forced to have it near a outlet to even work. I'll just use rechargeable batteries and save myself a lot of trouble.That being said, if your plans are to have it hooked up to a USB power source to have it work and never plan on moving it ever again, this does the job I suppose.

This port should be built into the actual product, but you have to pay extra for it. They would rather provide you with a removeable simple circuit with a cell battery than to give you a port for USB power. Does what it's supposed to do, but they are milking the consumer.

Allows you to use usb to power the pixel pal. Great product.

In the picture I included you can see exactly what we received in the mail. Some kind of weird battery, and a single wire that had been cut on both ends. That's it! No adapter, no cord, and there are other reviews on here that have had the exact same thing happen to them. This is basically a scam - do not buy!
