The author has a very annoying habit....
The author has a very annoying habit of being within story, and out of the clear blue, inserting lines directed directly at the reader, as if he were telling the story to a group, but suddenly singles the reader out, making direct eye contact, and saying something specifically to the reader. For example, his character can be talking about Orcs, and their habits, and then suddenly he has a sentence that says, "I bet you didn't know that, did you". He's not saying that line to somebody IN the story, but to YOU, the reader. Now that may work fine for young teens who don't know good writing from mediocre writing (or, in this case, strange writing), but for seasoned readers, this is VERY distracting and totally unnecessary. It's UP TO THE READER, as to whether they "know something" or not. Every reader has different experience backgrounds from reading such things as fantasy novels, and something that is not known to one reader, another reader already accepts that as "known". The author should NOT assume the knowledge of the reader. If the author could have refrained from doing that constantly throughout the book, I would have given the story at least a 4.0. As it is, my rating is a 2.5, rounded to 3.0 because Amazon doesn't have 1/2 stars. I ONLY rate the story this high because the genre is my favorite.I regret buying this book, and I will not buy anything else from this author. It appears the author is aiming these stories for young teens who have little experience with this kind of fantasy novel. (a side note: also, the story is simplistically written - again, meaning it is apparently meant for younger readers)

Dragon Bones & Tombstone - Book 2 - Dragon Series
A good story but now I realize this author writes more for the younger aged readers. I enjoyed the story of Nath Dragon and all his perils with all sorts of nasty creatures! He needs to find and rescue dragons so he can someday turn from the man he is into a true dragon. Once again I did find the story long and drawn out. So much of the story involves lengthily descriptions of scenery, which became boring after awhile. The main character, Nath, is very whiny about the weather, his problems, the terrain and his not accomplishing his goal to please his father and turn into an acceptable colored dragon. There a few battles, but some are long and drawn out. Multiple injuries to Nath and his dwarf companion are mentioned but they bounced back every time. I am anxious for Nath to finally meet the evil High Priestess Selene!! On to book 3.Kathy Barber Doyle - 5/24/2018

I like it....l
I have ALWAYS been a BIG fan of Dragon stories....especially sequels...I downloaded the first book in this series because it was free....and to see if the rest of the books in the series were going to be worth buying....and ...the answer is ....YES!!!I just finished reading #2 ......and that one was Great TOO.I purchased #3 , as soon as I finished reading #2....I really like this story because it doesn't leave you hanging at the end of the book ...making you buy the next book to see what happens. The book starts with an objective and at the end of the story it has been completed...even though you know that there is MORE to the story as a whole...it is like reading a story within a story...and THAT IS PRETTY COOL....I waited on giving my review till I read book #2....and like I said ....I LIKE IT....Keep up the GREAT WORK...Take care...and God Bless....

Original & entertaining
Great book, definitely one of the most original plots that I have came across all year, especially for the fantasy genre. The setting is expressed by a very high quality writing style and it stays entertaining from start to finish. The characters are also very unique and they don't seem plain or boring at all, they have just the right amount of detail for them to actually stand out and they fit really well into the story.Overall it's a really fun read, it kept me captivated all the way throughout and there weren't any rocky bits or anything that I came across, it's one of those books that could easily be read twice due to the author's eloquence.

Great read, but...
I really enjoyed this book. Even more so than the first. Halloran is starting to spin one heck of a story. I am just very disappointed in the length. He told us the books after the first would be longer, but this is still only about 150 pages. It is sad to say, but it is not worth 3 bucks for a day worth of reading. Unless you lengthen your books in this series, I think I may be done.

I've started so I'll finish.
The story itself is interesting and moves at quite a pace but the grammar is poor in places and there seems to have been a reliance on auto-correct that often puts in words that do not make sense. I also do not like the 'comic-book' style phrases that are used to describe some sounds and actions.
