Rothco3 Season Concealed Carry Jacket

I like the color and it is in good shape
I ordered this jacket in the Olive drab because many buyers said that the other dark colors would attract a lot of lint. I like the color and it is in good shape. For the price you pay for this jacket it is worth it. I like the two large pockets on either side and the 4 magazine pouches. The gun pockets are deep as other reviewers have mentioned and this is going to take some getting used to for me because I normally carry a sub-compact 9mm the gun is obviously going to "float" but I don't expect to much of a problem. The pockets were obviously made for a full size pistol. I didn't notice any problems with the stitching and liner as other users did. In fact, it seems very well made to me. The olive drab is a good color. The jacket is soft and very comfortable. The size is a bit of an issue for me but I am not so sure that is the sellers fault. Here is what I mean. I am tall and slim and I ordered a medium because many reviewers said the sizes run a bit large. For me however the medium might just be a tad small in the length --that might just be the problem of a tall thin guy I am not sure. One thing I am pretty sure of is that if I send it back for a large that is going to be to big so I am sticking with the medium. The one criticism I have of this jacket is in the title. It is not a 3 season jacket --no way. I won't take a star away over that because the pictures are pretty accurate about what you are getting. This is definitely not a summer jacket. Fall and winter for sure. I will be very surprised if I can get away with wearing this during the Spring in Virginia. I would definitely recommend this jacket for anyone who carries concealed.

Good value
This jacket is actually the correct size and fits well. I'm 5', 11" at 185 lbs and ordered a Large. The Large is comfortable and roomy enough. The quality is very good, The zipper is sturdy and is easy to pull. It is a well made product and a good value.

This coat rocks. Love it. The inner pocket is large enough for my Kimber Ultra. One can tell that I'm carrying something but it only looks kinda like a pocket full-o-stuff, not like I'm packing. I also use it to carry my LC9s & the pocket is almost too big for that one which allows the pistol to fall "sideways" a bit. I've got the "bought together" card/elastic pistol holster but haven't tried it yet with the little Ruger but it'll probable solve that completely. The coat is well made and very warm. The one thing that I do like about carrying the Ruger in it is that, since the pocket is so large, I can and do remove the coat when at an eatery & hand it over the chair back behind me. Nobody knows I have a gun in that pocket at all.

Sizing Comparison and Observations
Problem:I read the previous reviews that indicated this jacket ran large, so I ordered it one size smaller rather than my customary extra large only to find that once the jacket arrived, it was too small. Rather than just stating my usual garment size and what I ordered, I thought specific dimensions might be a helpful point of reference to others that are considering ordering this item. I am 6'2", 215 lbs, chest = 47" and my sleeve length is 34".Observations:This is a casual jacket weighing roughly 2.5 pounds, with a cotton outer shell and a strap behind the collar for hanging it on a hook. The outside seams all appear to be double stitched and there is a brass colored double zipper (not YKK) allowing you to have the bottom partially open for either ventilation or driving. The jacket has a diamond patterned, sewn in polyester liner, the sleeve cuffs have two buttons for closure fitting, the waist has a tab with two buttons for adjustment and there are two zippered outside pockets. Inside, on each side of the zipper there is a very large padded 'concealment' pocket with a partial breakaway corner that is secured by a hook and loop closure. Just to be clear, the top of the pocket remains open, but the hook and loop corner can be pulled away in the event of drawing a weapon, thus providing greater retrieval clearance and less material to snag. There are also two horizontal, chest level, parallel magazine pockets with flap closures secured with hook/loop.Fit:For my stature a size large was too small in these areas:1. The sleeves were 1.5-2 inches too short for me2. The bottom of the coat was barely long enough to cover the top of my pants3. The chest was so snug that I could not have worn a sweater or any other layers. It was so tight that even my subcompact ‘baby’ Glock 27 and the extra magazines were clearly ‘printing,’ making this a less-than-concealed carry garment.Impressions:1. The weight of the coat will most likely make a nice three-season jacket for most. I live in the Southeast, so it would most likely be a two-season jacket for me.2. I find the breakaway pistol pocket to be a very nice feature, however the pockets are so large and deep, that I am not certain how much functional gain it provides (unless you are carrying a very large frame firearm). If the pocket had a hook/loop backing sewn into it so that a basic hook/loop holster could be used to keep the frame secure and close to the top of the pocket, the breakaway feature would be extremely useful. [Rothco - If you are reading this, please consider incorporating the concept into future designs.]3. If you carry a compact or subcompact frame weapon, it will fall very deep and low in these pockets without some type of improvised retaining system.4. All in all I like this jacket and have rated it four stars. If it had hook and loop lined pockets I would give it five stars.5. I suspect that if I had ordered the jacket in my standard XL size, I would have kept it. I am exchanging it for the next larger size and unless there is a newly discovered issue, I should be a happy camper.

Impressive...
I don't usually right reviews but I thought this was worth it. This jacket is quite the warm one! I bought this for having a backup to carry as well. Not entirely fond of carrying in my jacket, because I feel the extra weight. However, for warmth, right after I purchased this jacket, I went to northern Michigan and Illinois and it was cold! With wind about 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit. This jacket kept me so warm that I didn't even realize it was that cold out. It has the feel of a barn jacket but looks nice enough that you could dress it up if you needed too. Definitely worth the money! I have spent far more on parkas that just didn't cut it...or so called sports company winter coats without the positive results. This cuts down on the wind for sure! Definitely worth it and if I had to buy another coat I would buy another one.

Great jacket
I wore all winter in northern Canada. Is warm and comfortable. Wishing it had an actual cell phone pocket inside and higher up. Otherwise very comfortable and lots of storage for stuff.
