Coming Back by Raymond Moody, MD: A Psychiatrist Explores Past-life Journeys: 3 (Raymond Moody, MD Classic Editions)

I am a neuroscientist and interested in the scientific study of NDE’s and reincarnation. I have read Professor Ian Stevenson’s works and Jim B Tucker. This book is well written and accessible to the scientist and non scientist alike. I was surprised that some people thought Raymond Moody was doubting the afterlife with this book. I don’t think so, I think he is just being scrupulously careful about what can be inferred from the evidence. Lots of case histories which defy explanation by material, reductionist thinking.

Dr Moody concludes with an extremely interesting explanation for past life journeys, without ruling out the possibility of re-incarnation. This doctor is renowned for his good research and thoughtful and insightful appraisals.

Dr Moody uses his excellent experience to study reincarnation and gives a very balanced view without imposing his own opinions onto the reader. I get the impression he is a little skeptical of past lives possibly due to his immense NDE work but clearly believes past life therapy to be very beneficial. In all a good read.
