Put these on my ‘04 4Runner a few months ago. They are really easy to install and they work great. I don’t know what anyone ever puts up with worn out hood struts when they are so affordable and easy to replace.

The media could not be loaded. Ordered this Hood Lift Support to replace the original hood lift support in my 2005 Toyota 4Runner SR5, which suddenly failed to support the heavy hood a few weeks ago.The installation of these new parts was quick and easy which only took me 15 minutes.These new parts work as well as the original one when they were in brand new condition. I will continue to update this review to share how long they could last.I got nobody to help in the installation. So I used a rope to hang the hood to maximum opening to a cross beam in my garage. I did not have any problem to fit the screws in as others reviewer did. Screwed in the screw under the hood first, then the one in the body. Do not tighten the screws until both the top and bottom screws are in place. You need to slightly adjust the height or opening of the hood with one hand while using another hand to start turning in the the screws. Hope there helps.Updated on 4/21/2023. Still working well.

Good value. I put them on my 2003 Toyota 4Runner. They're strong and do nicely keeping the hood up. The only issue I had was putting them on. The manufacturer screw that mounts to the hood and in the engine compartment has a smaller end in diameter with no threads and about an 1/8 of an inch up the threads start. It makes it so much easier to get in the hole and then start the threading. The reason why is because of the angles involved in starting the threading. You really have to be steady and it's hard to start the threading right at the beginning. Other than that, once it starts threading then you're good. It's still a good value.

Easy install and works perfectly, why spend more? Just bought a 18year old 4Runner and the hood struts were done, this was an easy fix.

Flawless installation, super easy to do - 5min job. Fit my 4th gen 4Runner and holds open no problem and closes no problem. Came nicely packaged. Would buy again.
