Inexpensive and works well in 5 gallon tank
Been using this a little over a week and it’s working great in my 5 gallon tank. Is easy to set up and clean. My fish appears happy with it so far. Also, it’s quiet.

Love this!!!
Works great for my 5.5 Gallon tank, I actually modified it some in which then it works even better, inside the filter is a plastic basket that holds a small pouch of carbon, the basket has small holes, so I actually used the Fluval Zeo-Carb loose in there, it is big enough that nothing escapes! Works great! Then I trashed the little pre filter that comes with this, I felt it had large pores which let a lot through, and I got the Fluval Phosphate filters, and I cut them to size and put them as the pre filter, I think it makes it one of the most efficient filters I've ever had, and it SUPER QUITE I love that if I keep it just slightly above the water as it sprays from the long attachment it creates some bubbles, enough that my guppies are super happy, which is good because typically bubblers are very loud.

Great filter for a 20 gallon tank, powerful and keeps water crystal clear
I bought this filter at the beginning of January, so I’ve been using it for almost 3 months now. Overall, I’m really happy with it and I feel like it was a great upgrade for my tank. The filter feels like good quality and it has two types of filtration that work really well together. One is a sponge that catches most of the dirt and debris, and the other one is like a bag with filter media that helps clean the water even more. Together they do a really good job. Before this, I had a waterfall filter that came built into a rock decoration with my tank, and honestly it never worked properly. The water was always dirty no matter what I did. After switching to this filter, I immediately noticed a huge difference. It only took about 15 minutes after turning it on for my tank water to look clear again. This filter is rated for 20 to 40 gallon tanks, and mine is 20 gallons, so it fits perfectly and has more than enough power to keep everything clean. The only downside is that it does make some noise, which can be a little noticeable at night. Also, I had some bad luck because the replacement piece for the motor propeller came broken, so that’s why I’m not giving it a full 5 stars. Other than that, it’s a really good filter and I would still recommend it. It keeps the water very clean and works exactly as expected. Also, my turtle actually loves it and likes to sit under the water flow, it even looks like she’s dancing when the water hits her shell.

Good little filter
A little strong for a 10 gallon, but surprisingly good. I would use it more for a 20 gallon unless you need a lot of water movement in your smaller tank. Keeps the water clear and the sponge will hold beneficial bacteria. It's quiet and the suction cups are good and hold it in place very well.

not a long living filter
this is the best filter you will probably get at this price point. that being said—it is still a $10 filter. i got this mostly to disturb the surface of my planted tank to prevent surface biofilm and to add some flow, which it did properly for a few weeks. after week three the motor started to go and there is very little flow from the filter at all. cleaning did not fix the problem, so it’s not a blockage issue. regardless, while it did work it did its job well for how cheap it is

Great little filter for small tanks
I’ve been using this small internal filter for a few weeks in my 5 gallons tank and it does a good job. It’s compact and easy to set up, and doesn’t take up too much space inside my aquarium. The flow is gentle enough for my fishes but still keeps the water moving and super clear. It runs pretty quietly too, which is a big plus, but it is not completely silent either. The only thing to note is that you’ll need to clean the sponge fairly often since it’s small, but that’s expected with a filter this size. Overall, it’s a reliable little filter for small tanks. Great value for money.

These filters are great for many uses, maybe not a betta. 4.7/5stars
Using this on anything under 7 gallons may require a little work IF you have a betta. The flow rate on this is superb, but the spray bar doesn't reduce the flow enough to make this really work with bettas. You could add extra fine filter sponge or filter floss in the chamber and simply remove the charcoal cartridge or add a tiny bit in the spray arm, but doing so WILL increase maintenance needed on this thing. If you're using this with other nano fish, mind the direction of the flow and you'll probably be fine. That said, this thing is great for simply polishing the water and adding flow. The only downside for me on this is how often it needs cleaning. Expect to clean this nearly weekly. Not a big deal and it's easy to do, but compare it to the Aqueon 10-20 Hang On Back (HOB-with flow reduction dial-works in a 5 gallon) or Tidal 35 (can also be cranked WAY down to nearly no flow), and I think I'll be using those instead. This is a great filter, but after using for nearly a year, I've decide the less my hands are literally in the tank, the better. With both HOBs, I keep my hands dry and the fish are happier. Again, great filter, but just like with sponge filters and canister filters, your hands will be in the tank. TL:DR, Requires power, requires you to stick your hands in tank, no flow control; consider aqueon 10-20 and Tidal 35 at similar price points for easier maintenance.

Fantastic without being too overpowering
I bought this filter in June 2025, and this filter works fantastic so far for my 5 gallon betta tank (I got the mini filter 3.5w)! The tank stays very clean and oxygenized without stressing my betta out, since the waterfall-like option gives a gentle, not overly disruptive water flow that I can adjust the position as needed. My old filter that came with the tank I found was too stressful and my late betta had a hard time swimming through, but my current betta seems to swim around this one with ease. I do have the water flow streaming onto a rock which helps too (see pic). It's very easy to set up as you just put it together and plug it in, no additional pumps required. Overall, this filter is way cheaper than my local pet stores and works much better without being overpowering for my betta. If it were to break, I would definitely buy this again.

Does not work for Australian sockets
I bought every adaptor I could find and still cannot plug it in properly. Very annoyed that it even needs an adapter in the first place. Basically unusable.
