Roasted millets
I bought Anthony’s Organic Hulled Millet to try out a Chinese remedy I heard about for inflammation and overall health. I fry about 100g of millet with shaved ginger slices for 10-15 minutes until it turns a roasted brown color and smells nice and toasty. Then I store it in a jar and every morning, I scoop out two tablespoons, pour in boiling water, and let it steep.It’s supposed to help with inflammation, digestion, and even support heart health. The millet itself is super fresh and has a nice, clean taste — perfect for this kind of drink. If you’re looking for good-quality millet for remedies or just to eat, this one’s definitely worth trying!

Grinds fine and works perfectly for my recipes
I grind this in my blender when I can’t find millet flour. It grinds like a dream and I love it for gluten free goods. I’ve made bread, cinnamon rolls, pizza and flatbreads with this and I’m so pleased! It seems to stay fresh for a long time, too.

Nice with pecans
Yummy. Nice to eat with raw pecans or walnuts. Also nice on cereal.

Good but packaging iffy
I really like this flour and the packaging being healthy, not plastic. The only problem is the package sometimes arrives exploded, with flour everywhere. They've put the paper package inside a plastic bag lately, but who wants to eat what's on the outside of the bag and in BPA plastic?

Anthony never disappoints!
Anthony’s products never disappoint! The foods and herbs and spices are always fresh, organic, and tasty. I got this as a lower carb, low glycemic alternative to rice and gluten free avoiding wheat. I used it to make South Indian style upma and it turned out delicious!

Millet
I bought this millet in Aug 2021, the best by date is in Mar 2022. Just started using it in Jan 2022, and quality seems fine, pretty sure this this will stay good for a while even after March.Grains look plump out of the bag. I used a recipe I found online for millet pumpkin porridge, came out perfect and looked just like the cooking video.Recipe below if anyone wants to try it:1. Rinse a cup of millet and presoaked it for 30 minutes. Also rinse some goji berries and presoaked it if you want to add it.2. Put the presoaked millet into a cast iron pot of boiling water (about 10 cups), add a few drops of cooking oil, stir and let it continue boiling for 20 minutes.3. Add diced pumpkin (1/2 inch cubes) and let the whole thing simmer for another 15 minutes. I lower the heat to medium for this part.4. Add the presoaked goji berries, stir, turn off the gas and put the lid on for another 5-10 minutes.I didn’t stir much during the cooking process because I have a satin enamel coated cast iron. For regular stainless steel pots or uncoated cast iron, more stirring might be required to prevent sticking on the bottom.The millet doesn’t really have much of a flavor. The pumpkin and goji berries are both very light in flavor with a hint of sweetness. I usually add sugar to make the porridge sweet, but it could be eaten plain with other savory sides too as a meal.This is a really easy to chew, easy to digest recipe. Great for cold winter days or as an oatmeal alternative in the mornings.I’ve made the millet porridge twice now and have been very happy with the overall look and taste.
