Sweet total war action
Total War products continue to amaze me with their detail to real life battles and the history behind them. Being a history teacher, I teach about Rome, the Medieval Ages and Alexander the Great, so I appreciate the level of detail these games provide.Having played Rome TW for awhile, Alexander was a game I had to acquire. Its map focus on Alexanders conquests from Mesopotamia to Egypt to Persia and into in India are intense. I havent played through a whole campaign yet but it is definitly fun. I especially love the Phalanx formation and its power on the battle field at this time. There is no better way to victory than engaging Hoplites with a phalanx formation at the enemy's center and then using Alexander's Companion Cavalry to attack the flanks while they are engaged. Just wonderful!

If you like Rome Total War you'll like this game
It's a fun game as you can play as only macedons Indians Persians DahaeI guess in the other versions you can't play as Indians persian dahae while you can play as sythians llyria thrace you have to do other things like change expasion files kind've lot work why does RTw series have alot of condfusion in them? In this you only have one historical battle the battle of chaeronea which gave philip control of the aegean. Before you buy anything online look around see youtube videos of real time playing if it's a game you want, and you can usually find somethiong cheaper Like I bought a helicopter for like 40.00 but later saw one for 10 bucks.

A half good attempt at an expansion
While the concept is good, the game got really old really fast. The fact that you never actually get to go to India is kind of a turn off as well. All this and you are in a huge rush to conquer all territories in 100 turns. Basically you play it and beat it once, then you're done.

haven't been able to load it to my computer
Yeah, I have not been able to load it yet, but I wish to very much. The 2.0 pixile shader isn't working quite yet, maybe I can load it from the Steam program I have.

Not "Great"
I Love The Total War Games, and the first expansion for Rome well, expanded the game. This however, does not. For one, you can only play as the Macedonians, and there's a 100 turn limit which made me feel like I was playing a demo. I can tell Creative Assembly put this out right as they were puting all their effort into Medieval 2. Not enough content for a pass.

It's alright, but short
Compared to the original game and the other expansion, its relatively short, and you can only play as one faction. Overall, I regret buying it for lack of content

Alexander
If you liked rome total war I guess you will like Alexander as well. It is a challenging, historically accurate(with very few exceptions) and A LOT OF FUN to play, taking you into Greece, Persia and India. The 6 historical battle are a great experiance as well as the campaign. However the only faction playable is Macedon and the other factions are playable only in cusom battles.I like the presure of time historically Alexander conqered the Persian Empire very quickly so its a nice touch to the game. The graphics are slightly improved and different bugs RTW had removed(especially in sieges). Finally the choice of units is historically accurate(with the exceptions of some persian units) plus they look cool. Its a spectacular game and I would recommend it to any total war fan!

If you love the Total War series
If you love the Total War series, this is great, but I found this game was a bit disappointing. Its fun to play, but I found it didn't really add anything new and interesting to the total war series. Once Shogun Total War II was released, I stopped playing it... and had no desire to go back or try to finish any scenario.
