Amazing and beautiful shower system
It is not too often that I take the time to write a review but this shower system deserves to be discussed. We have now been using our Grohe Euphoria shower systems for 2+ weeks and showering is now one of my favourite chill activities.Pros:*This system is beautiful in its design and lines. Our plumber and remodeling contractor were so impressed that they both made note of the model to share with future clients. They also confirmed that, in their experience, Grohe products have excellent quality inside and out.*The brushed nickel finish is beautiful and I haven't had any concerns with spotting. The photo of the handle is taken after a shower and about 5 seconds after a quick wipe with a micro fiber cloth.* I love love LOVE that I can set my preferred water temperature once and never touch it again... and I haven't! The temperature is set by dialing the right side of the handle then leaving it in that position; the left side rotates up for the showerhead or down for the handheld. There is an audible click for the off position. The showerhead and handheld do not operate together. I almost did not choose the Euphoria because of this as I was accustomed to my previous shower system where I used and needed both in order to stay warm and rinse my hair. I thought I would miss having the double flow but I absolutely have not. And, as all the controls are on this horizontal handle, the look is sleek. No more separate handles on the wall! Love it!* The showerhead waterflow is amazing. The knob in the center of the showerhead (photo) will adjust the flow output for 3 flows from widest (all nozzels) to a center stream. My husband uses the rainfall setting (widest) while I am delighted with the flow one click inward. Our plumber did not install the flow restrictor which was a separate piece that could have been added where the showerhead attaches. It is nice that it is an optional piece that doesn't have to be "surgically removed" from the inside of the fixture. The showerhead also has some swivel (see photo) if you need that.*The handheld output is quite adequate for my purposes - tile wash-down, leg shaving and dog washing. If I needed it for hair rinsing, I would be fine with the flow but I absolutely don't need it for that now. Also, the handheld easily rotates and holds a parallel position (photo) if you need that. It's handle attachment is also a handy place to hang a loofah (another photo).*Our showerhead is 7 feet above the floor. This is a functional height for my 6"1" husband and it is aesthetically pleasing to fit the height of our floor to ceiling tiled walls. At 5'2", I had my doubts about the showerhead height being almost 2 feet above my head as I was used to my previous distance of about 10 inches above my head. Nope. This showerhead could probably be 3 feet above my head and I would still rave about it! It is simply an amazing shower experience.*You will NOT need a separate rough-in valve for this system although Amazon's listing makes it appear as if you do.Cons:Only one and I wish I could be more detailed than our plumber said one of the handle units was a difficult final connection fit which required a wall to be opened up for access. As this was just the case with one of the units, I might be inclined to blame this on a quirk with my 20 year-old framing or plumbing. I do think it would be fair to say the wise homeowner should hire a plumber for the installation of this system.Overall, we are beyond pleased with the Grohe Euphoria system and Amazon had the best price by far!

Love it, but contractor who had to install it wasn't as happy
I love everything about this shower system... but the contractor who was remodeling my shower wasn't v. happy (I picked and purchased this shower set). Like others have said, this is European design, with threaded couplings that apparently are not common in US. 9 out 10 plumbers will have very little experience with these. In my particular case, install took longer, but everything worked out fine at the end. No regrets, however, couple of things to think about if you are shopping for Grohe:- threaded couplings are in the wall, behind your tiles/marble/drywall - it's threaded and there is no way to test for leaksduring final assembly; things "should be fine" if you follow instruction, but my contractor was panicky about not having access to check or leaks after the final assembly (literally asked me to check floor below for wet spots, in case)- also, since this is non-standard install, you can't easily replace with different US brand, and you are committed to Grohe products in the future (unless, you are willing to remove/replace tiles and change water pipes). On the positive, Grohe is top shelve, high quality and unique (different from most shower systems). It just looks & works great. IMO, worth the troubles during install (if you are skilled to do it).

Don't buy it you will get burn
I brought this product because I called customer service at Grohe and they told me that the body of the shower won't get hot. My 4 year all was going to use it. I read in their website about Cool Touch technology so I was very excited to know that it was going to provide safety to my kids. I used and and the body gets super hot even hotter the the cheap shower system that I had. They are misrepresenting this Cool Touch. I Cold Grohe to ask and the first Rep didn't even know what was that, the second a supervisor didn't even know were to read about in their website. Very unprofessional. Her respond was oh is a new technology. Guys I did my diligence and I call them to make sure that my more than 400 dollars shower was not going to burn my daughter and they said that cool touch was included again. Now I have to deal with a new project to take this out of my daugther bathroom and return... NEVER AGAIN this brand.

Complex and costly
This is a beautiful unit and works well. However it is very costly and complex to install even for my plumber. The instructions are terrible.

Grohe quality
Always try to buy Grohe products as they are excellent quality, last for years (decades) and when needed, spare parts are readily available. This is a beautiful shower unit, would highly recommend and all other Grohe products.I was not compensated in any way for this review, this is my personal sincere opinion.

Elegant, simple
We had a Grohe shower system in our other bathroom, so I already knew I liked them. We recently installed this unit to turn a bathroom with just a tub into one with a shower as well. There wasn't an existing shower in this tub, so it took a plumber about a full day to do the installation, though I'd imagine it'd be much less for folks who already have a shower in place. We couldn't be more pleased. I'm particularly happy with the separate static temperature setting. I can leave the temperature on warm, and simply turn on the water, knowing it'll get to my desired temperature prior to stepping in. The shower head is not forceful, instead more of a 'rain' style shower, which I find relaxing though those who prefer a lot of force may want to look to a different model.
