The Divine Heart: Seven Ways to Live in God's Love

I purchased The Divine Heart after hearing Colette interviewed this past summer. The “7 ways” have stayed with me, deepening not only my relationship with the Divine but enriching all of my relationships. I found the book to be so impactful that I brought it to my church community in the way of a book study which turned out to be a beautiful experience of growth and reflection for everyone who participated. My intention and desire is to live into the 7 ways for a lifetime!

I took this book with me on a week retreat and worked through it as a workbook. I loved the book and it made for a wonderful private retreat. It got me back to journaling which I had let go of. I do not identify as a Christian but Colette does a wonderful job making it relatable for other believers. Thank you!

I had the great fortune to attend a workshop given by Colette some years ago and, although I have attended many others since, I have never forgotten her teaching and her loving presence. If you cannot meet her in person, this book is the next best thing (though she often does online retreats now!) - with so many wonderful insights into the movement of God in our lives, and how to get back in touch with the Divine Heart that beats through us all.

I bought the book out of curiosity and to support my friend, the author. I was delighted to discover a message that met me right where I'm at. As a pastor, retreat leader, fellow Living School student––my standards for wisdom literature are high. I don't have a lot of time and I long for the depths of the contemplative life. Colette's book offers invitations to the inner intimate journey with God and with Love that include rich practices for incorporating these gems into your reflection, journaling, and meditation time. I've already used several of the practices in small group settings and have marked many pages to share in future retreats and worship settings. I'm also using the book as a resource for spiritual direction clients who are new to concepts of non-duality, engaging the Mystery, and developing a spiritual life of depth. Thank you for being faithful to the call, Colette. The world needs more of this!

Colette Lafia's book brings me back home to connecting with the fullness of love. Her writing guides the reader with authenticity (personal stories that help me understand her journeys of loss and discovery), gentleness(no pedantic preaching but rather illuminating invitations) and creativity(specific, easily accessible things I can do in my daily life). Amid the pain of this time of covid, she offers concrete steps towards spiritual renewal--concrete ways of inviting in God's love. This is a book I keep at my bedside for constant referral and inspiration. This is a book I gift to others every chance I get.
